Yes i am skipping the milling process. (I dont have any other choice right now) Deck is completely straight (never overheat and only 40k miles). The surface is in great shape, no corrosion pitting, i'm only trying to remove the mark leave by the gasket around the cylinder wall.
Head have been...
Hi, i<m in the process of lapping the deck of my 7mgte. I read while searching that i need to do it in a "8" pattern. I just realise that its not a good idea to do it with a 8inx8in lapping plate because the center of the deck get lap 2 times while the corner end only get lap 1 times. I made a...
Ok, is there a problem of getting the 8.5 in front with some 245 tires. I'm not a big fan of monster tire in front. 275 or something like that in rear should correctly fit the 10 inch wide wheel. I need to search on rolling the fenders since i never think about that until the 521.
thanks
WHat about using 18x8.5 +25 front and 18x10 =25 rear? I want the 521 and they dont do it in 9.5
I dont want 18x10 on front, i will need 275 to not get it look stretched.
ANyone have tried 18x10 + 25 with a non rolled rear fender? I have a Eibach drop, so not really agressive. I think it should...
Hi, here it is:
Machine shop remove .1mm from my head and i remove .05mm of the block from lapping it. So i should need a 1.5-1.6mm thick headgasket. The fact is that i already have a brand new 1.9mm thick cometic headgasket in stock.
Is there a problem if i use it?
I know it will lower the...
Hi, i search a lot but it look like the bosch 550 injector are not really popular for the 7mgte. I want to know if they are direct fit and i also want to know if they are great quality and may be as good as rc injector.
Thanks
Hi, Just before i post my question, i want to inform people here that i search for many many hours on the board to get an answer to my question without any result.

Everything is original on the engine, no bolt was ever removed, every belt are the original one. Thats why i decide to change every of those, and putting arp stud with a new headgasdket could be a good idea too.
Because the timing belt is 20 years old and is made from rubber...The belt doesnt look crack but it have some wear on top of it my beeing a little loose, look like it touch something.
Ok now, i wil ask you a question too ; Why are you asking why i'm changing the timing belt? Is there anything...
ok, so i guess i'm better using a stock composite head gasket instead of a cometic metal one. I dont want to get the engine out for many reason. First : money. Second : everything is ok on that engine, there is no leak, ac is working, etc.
I read on multiple search on the board that many...
Hi all, as title said, i'm doing a head gasket replacement while changing timing belt on my 7m. Its still the original headgasket, never overheated. But since i'm doing my timing belt i know it would be a good idea to change it since i want to upgrade the engine a little bit.(300-350hp max) Head...
Hi, i have a 1990 mkIII who still have the stock headgasket. I bought it 9000km ago with 65 000km from the original owner. I was shock when i retorque the stock head bolt to 74 lbs that i was the first one to remove a bolt under the hood. Anything was touch. Now it run fine but still on stock...
...I'm angry right now, really angry. That was the second block i bring to them. THey tell me the first one was junk because it was crack on a bolt hole. So i bring them an other block i bought and they tell me it was in great shape. I will need to look how much materiel was removed. They...
