Lmao!
Nah, it's not as pimp as that. I will try, however, to get a video of him squealing his tires sometime -- although it's going to sound strange with studs in them.
Hello from chilly northern Alberta, Canada -- where we have a beautiful three months of summer!
The point of this thread is me asking for tips/suggestions regarding winter driving in a Supra. (And I won't take, "don't" for an answer -- it's my only vehicle).
So, 3.0L straight 6 turbo, rear...
Sorry for the long wait, my Father was out cruising around in the Rockies.
He didn't want me to take any pictures of it from the outside - it's pretty dirty. ;P Says he's going to clean it sometime soon!
But I did get a few snaps of the engine bay... dang these cars are compact!
You can see...
Stockie-rockie here... love the car the way it is and would never change a thing!
..Except a better exhaust, maybe. And a new intake, perhaps.
...And maybe some rims.
...Oh no. ..
See above post^
...I can't figure out where to tuck that wire, short of ripping apart the dash. I have the temp sensor taped neatly into a cavity in in the door-well.
The random black wire is this:
Edit: Yes, my beautifully 80's burgundy interior... I'm doing all I can to modernize it. (Getting new rug mats, seat covers, etc). Cargo cover? What do you mean?
I just thought I'd share with you guys my setup for the fog lights installed on my '89 Mark III.
When I purchased this vehicle from the previous owner, he said, "Yeah, the stock fog lights were cracked-"
I interjected, "Oh well, fog lights are cheap. I'll just replace them, no biggie."
He...
I've been keeping mine in power mode and I've been thoroughly enjoying it.
Better acceleration, better pull... it sure has lots of poke, that's for sure!
Holy shit.
Sport mode really opened up my car. I notice a difference, a big difference.
It's turning me into a bad driver. >_>
I was coming down an off-ramp that was 60 km/h limit, to merge with traffic (not that there was any) -- I looked down at my speedo and the needle was cruising passed...
Lol! One thing at a time.
I think I'll start with a minor tune-up and oilchange, and get a pair of winter tires while I'm at it.
..And then maybe some nicer rims...
Would it be a good idea to just keep it in sport mode?
I was beat by a minivan at a stop light today.. (Caught me off guard).
...And not a newer dodge minivan, no.. an old decrepit transport minivan. :<
And yes, from stops.
Is it just me, or is this a Supra thing...
I have an automatic Mark III, 7M-GTE.
When I hammer the gas, the pick-up seems very sluggish. Don't get me wrong, when it's rolling it picks up speed very, very quickly.
Keep in mind that I'm in the "Economy" mode on my ECT transmission. Should...
When my father returns from his province-wide trip, I'll get some pictures.
It's not altered in any way on the exterior, or interior. It's what's under the hood that's scary.
I'll get the list of upgrades from him that he had installed.
I'm an ABSA-certified Fourth Class Power Engineer. I work as a Process Technician at a local Oilsands plant. In my spare time, I lose money in the stock market! :D
Thanks for all the help. I had my thoughts that it was just an off-the-shelf-replacement.
I wouldn't even know where to begin when shopping for new exhausts.
Thanks for all the positive replies! Makes me grin.
Believe-you-me, I don't go out looking for trouble... I just want to drive my classy Supra!

Thanks for the fix, Grim. It's always embarrassing when I typo...
Hello all,
Let me first say that I'm no street racer. I just want a nice-looking vehicle that can ferry me efficiently from point A to point B.
But in my city, if you have a nice car - other ass-hats will rev their little motors out of their engine bays at you at stoplights!
So the story goes...
