its safer then it sounds. True it can leak but only if installed poorly. Have mechanical on my mud drag truck works great. I just like them because their accurate and responsive. So its just a personal preference.
Filter testing done with coarse dust test 5.5 to 176 microns (hair 50 microns) Test proven that particles that cause engine damage are 10 to 20 microns in size. K&N tests come out to 97 to 99% efficient.http://www.knfilters.com/images/factstab2.gif
this is the information i found on the...
It's not a very scientific way. But you can look inside your intake or even TB dust can collect in their. With my truck since iv had my k&n iv never had any stick compared to stock replacement where it did and I drive a lot of gravel roads with tons of dust during the summer. So visually it...
Just adding an after though. If you want to go to aftermarket gauge for a more responsive and accurite readings go to mechanical use copper wire not the plastic ones they like to leak.
Sounds good enough to me. Don't think have to worry about det with a stock ge. Definitely micin out skirts see how close they are. Thanks for the input.
Yep normalish. My bros car (pyrite) reads nothing till you hit 0 lbs then will work up to 8. Try getting it up on boost then slowly spool the turbo up and down should read pretty smooth through that. If its just jumping from nothing to to 8. Then I don't think its working right.
I would just leave it. Theirs nothing wrong with factory gauge. Gets the job done. As far as cleaning stuff up a little sensor and wire isn't going to do much compared to all the other stuff under the hood.
Just a thought but because you mentioned it began running rougher then wouldn't start I wonder if dirt could have gotten In your fuel lines or rail and stuck in your injectors. Other then that sounds like cps came loose and moved your timing. But you said you changed it so their goes that idea...
Just looking for opinions on NPR piston set from driftmotion. Car is just going to be a DD so not looking for big HP.
Pitting in my cylinders so have to bore out and get the .20 over size.
I think k&n is fine. I run one in my 85 yoty pickup its used only for wheeling it holds up great. Iv had it extremely dirty just cleaned it up still working great filters very well. If any one tears up a k&n its user error. I personaly don't like specter but if you live in the city where theirs...
Haha nice, iv never seen this happen but with coolant lines going to TB I suppose it could. I will try next time I want to steam clean my pistons.
If you leak down have your radiator cap off so you can watch for bubbles. If it bubbles HG is not sealed. If it doesn't other issue.
Wow I'm supprised no one has said anything else about wanting to do this. Everyone is willing to stand around in parking lot and bull shit maybe even run their car on a dyno or select few drag. (pacnw) but when an oppertunity comes up to drive their cars on a track no one says anything. I find...
I personally don't like coffee can exhaust real mufflers sound better like magnaflow or borla. If you haven't tried this yet go on street fire or you tube search up the exhaust prob be able to find a couple clips hear how it sounds.
I would check to see if water jackets aren't corroded out. I had a head that did that, they where about 1mm away from the cumbustion chamber. If not that my guess is your block needs cleaned up or your torqe wrench is off.
