Its the 12 mm nut that holds the cable on.
I also agree with Ct26, if thats 44lb/ft with no plugs in thats bad. Even if the cables bad wouldn't try to start it.
Priming the system with oil might work but in a way 44 ib/ft doesn't sound to bad if your on a compression stroke, unless you can tell its actually more of a drag then id say clearances are to tight.
I would try a volt drop on the + battery cable see how much voltage you are loosing through it...
Where is a good place to get JDM motors is Northwest. Planning on getting 2 1UZ's. 1 for my supra and another for my 85 pickup. Hoping to do this by the end of upcoming summer.
Who know it be so hard to get freeze plugs lol. I agree with the guys saying go to the dealer. The parts guy at my local dealer has always been really good at getting parts for me and my brothers supra. I also bought my supra from the shop manager. Their awesome guys, also since their Supra...
I'v had a blaster 2 on my 85 pickup with 22RE and its lasted over 6 years now, but that coil was sold specifically for that engine. Also put one on my civic barely lasted a year, luckily didn't kill the igniter i'v seen 2 other Hondas have the igniter taken out with the coil. Most likely because...
Yes and maybe no. I don't mind much about brands, but it is important to get primary and secondary coil resistances close to factory specs because their is a chance of killing the igniter if their to far off. I've seen this happen with other cars. Mostly Honda's but they have probs with their...
Thanks for the input, Yea i have seen ones for $30 just wonder about their quality still want something half decent. I did find factory replacements on rock auto for about $60 and $70. Prob go with one of those unless I can find an MSD or Accel that matches factory specs for primary and...
The ignition coil on my 87 just died on me. Looking at after markets mostly because an msd blaster or Accel is cheaper then oe replacements and possibly will have better dwell time. Any way just seeing if any one has used any and had good or bad luck with them.
Just noticed you mentioned you haven't checked your ignition timing with a gun yet in the beginning of the thread only got the rotor close to #1 cylinder. Might want to get it timed in with a good gun before screwing around with the TPS more. My guess is your timings been to far off this whole time.
I talked to a guy the other day with a red mk4 in Aloha. He claimed he runs 10sec 1/4 mile I called bull shit on it. But wondering if any one has seen this car run to tell me if hes telling the truth or not. He doesn't have a cage so he says hes been booted from PIR. He also said that he had a...
I've been seeing the same red mk3 with black bra going down 99W out of Tigard turning down Cipole rd at right around 6:40 am every morning for the past several months. Very clean looking mk3. I enjoy seeing this beautiful site every morning as a putt by sadly in my girlie green 93 Civic.
Also...
I did 130mph in my 93 civic EX with bolt ons, Help with a little down hill running start haha. But in my bros turbo supra 130 still pulling but let off, he says he did 140 on the same stretch. Sadly iv never done a top speed in my supra cuz motors always been bad and now pulled apart in my...
If you ground the wire to the pressure sensor it takes all the resistance out to the gauge letting it shoot up maxing out the gauge. If the gauge sits grounded for to long it will fry it just like you would with any short to ground. I'm thinking it is most likely your gauge. I would also check...
I think your getting in over your head man. If you have to ask this stuff you prob shouldn't do it. A lot more to it then just running a hone and slapping it back together.
I think this is a dead thread but the cleaner I was talking about is not seafoam. It's just a mixture of about 3 different very strong solvents. Still haven't talked to my teach about what they are. Prob won't cuz I'm lazy. But he's been using it for about 20 years and nothing bad has happened...
I'm not sure if Toyota calls for this during compression testing but some manufacturers say to have the throttle held open while cranking, this is an often forgotten step. Try that see what happens. Also doing a leak down test is prob a great way to go also along with the oil test that SRZMK3...
I know usdm gte uses egr to control det on boost. Does ge do the same under load? Is their any proven benefits of blocking off egr. I have this done to my 22re in my 85 pickup and seemed to kick up power, help it run better. But 7m and 22r are different motors so doesn't say they will do the same.
I have the same shit happen to my Honda on realy hot days like 98 degrees plus. Not sure what it is really. My guess is either the slave isn't hitting right spot on the forks, throw out bearing installed incorrectly or master cylinder is not working properly. Check that the slave is hitting...
