I would just keep it simple because these cars can become money pits. you will be saving for quite sometime to get what you want accomplished.
Yeah I wouldn't gut it either. I mean make it a weekend car. I f you plan on keeping the car for a long time then you can slowly restore the interior. I think you'd be much happier with all of your interior nice and clean than a bunch of unattractive metal.

I would say F it... go for 1000 hp.... and drive it in the street. Sure your clutch will chatter and you will have a tiny bit of turbo lag but you have 1000 hp!!!!
