I did think of that too, only thing I'm worried about is what if I currently run 0.5mm and I may also need any kind of machining/resurfaceing of my cylinders? I may end up with bigger than 0.5mm bore...
Hmmm I really wanna get a set of these as this is the best compromise ever on forged pistons compared to stock longevity, smooth operation etc. Only problem is I have no idea what's my cylinders ID after my rebuilt...:icon_conf It has been so long afterall - like 4-5 years ago- so it's...
You actually got me going there! I'm so easy some times aren't I? :icon_razz
Acid clean??? That's a bit extreme don't you think? Let alone the fact that cleaning the inside of the frame rails with anything else than air blasting is next to impossible.
I still believe that the ridgidity issue is a fact to be honest. It does make sense too. These shallow frames are far more densier now and this will definatelly affect the actual chassis ridgidity, there's no question about that.
Ok folks, I thought I'd give you an update on the whole foam injection attempt/project; So I have foam injected the sidesills and all three interior x members.
as well as all the underbody frame rails. Starting from the rear I left about 5-6 inches from the rear opening where the rear...
Found these as an alternate option on coils http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190104082213&fromMakeTrack=true. Seller says they're made by standard motor. What do you people think?
This really is fantastic news. Man all the great comments have been already made but I can't help repeating it myself: so innovate, so clean, so simple, so stock!!!!!!!!!!!
So who's making a kit again??? :)
Well a pair of stock CT26s would be out of the question really, too big for the amount of air our 6pots produce. Now I'm far from what you call a "turbo's expert", the little relative knowledge I have, I gathered it in the forums from other helpfull members that actually have a clue and a bit...
MKIII-DRIFTKING have you checked the GT28R compressor maps? I think these as a pair will result in a laggy combination.
These two look ok but only just; http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT28/GT2854R_471171_9.htm ...
Its five smiles (ok six if you include your huge grin ;) )! So what do I win? :) :) :)
Glad you're back with some decent photos mate and wow what a progress you've made. Good stuff man. I'm so glad that '07 has kicked off so nicely for you!!!
Is it true that a LW flywheel would add some lag on the engine's response and become more rev happy based on the fact that as it is of a lesser mass it will have less inertia? BTW I'm not a hater, I actually just got a new chro-moly LW flywheel but I'm just wondering if the above is a fact.
