I have a 90 turbo 7m and a good running 88 n/a 7m. I know the 90 is better equipped as far a recieving a 1j swap. Does it matter whether the swap car is turbo or n/a. They are both 5sp targa. I would like to swap in a 1j in the near future, but not sure about keeping the n/a or not.
Do the stock fan shrouds generaly fit on aftermarket radiators. I have a Godspeed Radiator. Just wondering what others have done before I buy one. The GS radiator looks thicker that stock. It has the bolt holes to mount, I'm wondering about physically fitting the shroud in the space available.
I am pretty sure if your running the engine in diagnostic mode and rev it you will get the code 51 because the tps is sensing the throttle not closed. As long as the code goes away when your throttle is closed (back at idle), thats normal. If someone else can confirm this?
One of my favorites.. the sport roof (aka targa). To me its one of the coolest features. Back when all the U.S. cars had t-tops I thought the sport roof was bad ass. Both of my MK3's have em.
Finally found the problem. Geez, it turned out to be the flasher after all. I replaced it after checking the fuse when this all started but got nothing. After working in the steering column (PITA) checking everything else looking for grounds, I figured it had to be flasher still. So I checked...
My 90 turbo came with a Godspeed radiator from a PO but no shroud on it. Should I put a fan shroud on it. It has the mounts for one, not sure if the mounts are for a supra though. Wondering if it matters.
I had a code 31 and similar symptoms, I cleaned the connections at the afm and it took care of the code and the symptoms. May be worth a try before you spend some money.
No turn indicator lights work on the dash. Didnt check the haz/horn fuse, but the horn works. On the wiring diagram in the link above, if ground E or ground D were not grounded, would either one cause the entire system to not work?
This problem came with the car. I know the hazard switch can cause the turn sigs to not work, will a bad turn sig switch cause the hazards not to work?
Searching through other threads I found some information but still not sure. All lights work exept turn signals and hazard 4ways. I have checked fuse inside, replaced the flasher, and made sure my hazard switch was plugged in. I have 12v to the hazard switch and changed it out(had a spare) just...
thanks, I just found where I missed that in the tsrm. I have never had a "no malfunction" condition before. I usually at least have a 21, which I am sure I will have again when I start it back up. Thanks for clearing that up.
I cleared all other codes, my only code is 51. So to be sure I understand, if there are no codes the CEL will flash constantly? Then my TPS is set? I was confused since when my resistance were correct I got the constant flashing instead of the five then one flash.
I am trying to adjust my TPS to get rid of a code 51. I tried adjusting it with it on the car but couldnt get rid of the 51. I removed TB to get a closer look and clean it. I tested resistance per tsrm. It checked out ok with the tps almost maxed out rotated down. I plugged it back into the...
Over time, 7 months my battery is getting weaker. Sometimes when I attempt to start after sitting a week or longer, I just get a click. A jump will usually fire it right up. However, sometimes if I just try it a bunch of time it will fire up. It cranks really fast, as if the battery is not...
my n/a has the same really low oil pressure at hot idle, has 200k. It was that way 3k ago when I got it. It still runs fantastic, just old and a little worn out.
yes it is an oem gasket torqued 9ft lbs per tsrm. The oil is collecting and dripping off of the tip of the stud thats why I think its coming from the gasket not the connection.
I have an oil leak from the oil pipe connection where it bolts to the bottom of my turbo. I am about to remove the turbo for the second time for this leak. Its a new driftmotion turbo and new softline kit. So, two new surfaces with new gasket. My question is this. The turbo came with two new...
