yeah i checked on this earlier right after i posted. its definately not pumping oil. can anyone confirm that the 2j pump is identical.
an as far as removing the pump, can this be done in the car or does the oil pan need to be pulled off?
anyway to check if the oil pump is bad vs something else causing oil to not circulate?
if the oil pump is bad on my 1j, can i purchase a new one anywhere? or are there just parts that go bad that can be replaced?
^^thats what one of my winter projects was. i went through every single wire and if it led to nothing or i didnt need it, it came out. i forget what it weighed, but between the wires and relays and all the other electrical garbage, the heater system and more sound deadner, lets just say it was...
yeah thats what i'm thinking. i shouldn't have gone by the picture, i should have gone by the description. i figured they'd all be the same
thanks guys
ok i cheaped out and bought ebay tie rods haha. here's what i recieved:
heres the pic from ebay:
now the auction said 86-88 but the pic looked right so i went for it (i have a 91). are the earlier year tie rods different then the newer year tie rods?
if you line the faces up, the markings are in different spots most likely. i know thats how it is with the speedometer faces. they might both line up at zero for example, but when one gets to 6500, the other one might be at 7500.
well i think part of the reason is that it runs a bit rich on the standalone. but as for the above question, its been a while since i've driven the car. the cool thing about it was that even before it made boost it was quick. i would half throttle it and keep it at 1 or 2 psi and the thing...
yeah you have to take the fork and pressure plate off. its not an option. you have to.
i've always wanted to go to finland though. buy me a plane ticket and i'll come help!
i took my tranny off by myself underneath the car one day only to realize as i set it down on my chest/arm that the car wasn't high enough and i could barley wiggle out from underneath it hahaha (mind you i only weigh 150 lbs so it almost weighs as much as me).
if you cant just tilt the motor...
has anyone successfully sold an mkiii for that much before. sure i would agree its worth that, but does anyone pay that much.
clean car man, i'd keep it! you'll miss it too much!
