I pretty much got an answer on this. The dam is there to help pull out the next exaust pulse for the stock manifold. I guess the question now would be that if I go to a header that has the step if that is nessisary, or if the tube header will do a good enough job "pulling" the exaust out. I...
Thank you for clearing that up. It had me all kinds of confused. Is this only good for higher hp applications? (Should be last question on this). Thank you.
So they are droping the temp in the combustion chamber by adding a small amount of water? Or is it for a different reason? I'm sorry, I am not trying to jack your thread, I am just really curious about this idea.
So is this like ice on the manifold between drag rounds or methane injection(hottscennessey)? Keeping the fuel cool or replacing the fuel for short runs. I would assume it would be cooling as running water into the motor is always bad, I think.
I got 2ft of oil/heat resistant hose from a local shop and had it replaced with good clamps for $5-10. It's 7/8" but I used 1" with the worm gear clamps.
Ok, for my 100th post I have a question about the head and header. There are anti-reversion dams built into the head. I read that you should not remove them when doing head work b/c they help keep the exaust pulses from messing with the next fire out of the combustion chamber. In another thread...
Sorry to jump back in but, this is what he is running in his intercooler? That is the way that I read it but it didn't sound that way to begin with. Sorry that a NA is asking but I like to know as much as possable.
Those are rewelded. They add material and then grind it away. I don't have any expreiance with those. I'm sure someone will chime in on that. The other ones seem to be new grinds made from cam blanks. They seem to be better DD cams though.
**My e-mails did get through to them. I think my...
If these guys are decent at what they do they should be able to figure out what will work well with the mods you have and what you have planned. I have a buddy that has one of those computer programs that you can adjust the cam specs, compression ratio, ect. and get at the flywheel guesstamate...
They are in Tacoma. I will have to call. They don't like me doing that during work for some stupid reason. I tried again. For all I know it's our server here at work. It fiters out anything that resembles fun.
I tried e-mailing them with the e-mail address that is on their web site and I got a mail delivery problem. I tried two different e-mails(work and home) and got the same thing. They sound like they might be part of a solution for power NA style.
I don't want anything crazy(titanium bolts), just things that work at cutting weight without spending a ton of cash. If I wanted to do anything as crazy as some of the suggestions I would spend that on a built motor.
I want to improve the overall perfomance of the car. It is my daily driver and I have to haul my little girl around on occasion so I have to keep the back seat. The a/c can go b/c I have two windows that work. I have never had a vehicle that had working a/c, why start now(btw the compressor is...
I guess part of the reason for getting lighter would be that losing weight without replacing parts is cheaper than paying to up horse power. I know that speed costs. I had heard somewhere during my reading of a hotrod mag or maybe even on here that 100 pounds=one tenth off the 1/4 mile. Is that...
