umm... oil on top of the spark plugs wont get oil in the cylenders.
spark plugs have metal gaskets on them.
i understand that oil migrates and all. and maybe after years of sitting with oil in the spark plug holes and the engine never being started, you might see and oily residue on the...
why dont you go get a new gauge? they are like 50bux... then you will b more sure of that you are actually running.
or if a friend has a spare laying around hook it up 2 and compare them...
valve seals will only blow smoke on a fresh start after sitting all night, and if they are really bad then the engine will smoke after idling(when engine vacuum is highest)for a lil while. valve seals just prevent oil from being pulled intp the cylenders while the engine is under vacuum.

my targa doesnt seem to leak tho.. it was parked in a yard for a year and the interior...

petrolum base products break down the rubber and it WILL blow out on you... and the oil on an engine is pretty important, in my book. dont mess around

I know, I know.... NOOOOOB Question, but I am a NOOB to the targa. I just bought kind of a "ragged" turbo targa and my real question is, do you have to use an Allen Wrench to take it loose each time, or did it originally come with convienent knobs?

i bought the safc while i was buying parts for a NA-T.
i did pick up the supra t! just need to mess with it, the past 2 nights i have worked l;ate and havnt got to touch it since it rolled off the trailor :'(

i drive a 87 NA right now and picking up a 88 turbo targa tomorrow, but my na stock cept for a SAFC leaned out 4% across the board... i get 27mpg outta that car! its awesome
the safc has alot to do with that tho... i dont ping and the plugs are healthy looking so its not tooo lean
