Their software is pretty nasty...but they do work.
I haven't seen a standalone ECU that wasn't capable of being tuned. They'll all get the job done if you hit the correct keys. :) Some are certainly easier than others, but they'll all work, provided they have enough drivers for your...
The Stinger doesn't have a base pulse width setting...it's not a VE-style system in that way (like Electrotive or FAST) . The fuel map (combined with the MAP scale and other multipliers) IS the time scale, the units just aren't in ms.
You generally don't "pull codes" with a standalone, but they all have some sort of rudimentary diagnostic function. The difference is that you can see what's going on directly on your laptop.
Some may have a check engine light function to alert you of a problem or fault, but you access all...
I just trim the map proportionally. If the injectors are 25% larger, I trim the map down by 25%.
I'm not really sure what you mean by the "time scale".
Not sure why anyone would ever use a "tune analyzer" in the first place. Just tune it to where it drives right and you're 99% of the way there...and that takes maybe an hour or two.
Unplug the lambda sensor and go drive around. :)
Seriously...step back from the lambda...nothing to see...
Well...I wouldn't count on 550cc injectors to make that much power. That's pretty much at the far end of what they're capable of. You could stretch it somewhat by cranking up the fuel pressure, but how far you can stretch the capacity depends on the pumps you have and how much boost you need...
That thread sorta devolved into a troubleshooting deal on that one calibration. This one just has the .cal files.
I may (probably will) move that calibration and/or that post over here and leave that thread there...but I have to figure out how to do it. :)
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll...
It wasn't intended as a slight or anything, just good housekeeping. :) It seemed to me that the thread titled "AEM EMS .cal files" would be a good place for people to find your "AEM EMS .cal" file.
Sorry...LOL...it's late. :evil2:
Like i said, I had problems running in 360 mode (AKA: batch). 4-banger with BIG injectors(160# times 8, 2 per hole), all firing at the same time.
The synch sensor had died and I hadn't replaced it...worked on the smaller engine setup, but that changed abruptly when I went up in displacement...
Just an FYI == if you're not needing to know down to a gnat's ass...
The compression ratio will increase by the same percentage that you change the displacement...all other things held equal. If you make a 10:1 motor displace 10% more, the compression ratio will then be 11:1.
If you want...
You can have some pulse problems for sure...been there done that. I don't think that opening them two at a time will do it, but opening all six at a time could.
Not saying that IS your problem, only that it is a possibility. Mine ran fine to 5000, then it hit a wall...would not go further...
