Need to get windows up, mid engine swap.

^ This. When I pulled my window motor out of the car I had to move the window around to get to all the bolts. With the door panel removed just unplug the window motor and apply power to it. All I did was take the 9.6V battery from my cordless drill and connected a couple of wires with female...

1st Time Home Buy - Any Real Estate Agents around (Tips/Etc)

Sounds like a good plan. If you can muster the 20% down payment you will have a much easier time getting a loan and you will not have to pay PMI on the second loan. Whats funny is my friend said if he ever buys a house again he is going to stay in the house overnight prior to closing.

1st Time Home Buy - Any Real Estate Agents around (Tips/Etc)

A few more things to consider. If you have kids or planning to have kids You may want to be in a neighborhood with great schools. Also you have to think what your goals for the house is. Is this a long term place to live or a starter house. How much yard work do you want to do. I learned I...

    Bushing Information

There is one that does not come with the kit. I bought mine from Toyota when I replaced all my bushings. I think it is that one in the spindle that is more towards the rear of the car. You can tell if you hold on to the body of the bushing and the insert can pivot and move around quite...

1st Time Home Buy - Any Real Estate Agents around (Tips/Etc)

A couple of things from my home buying experience. 1. I am assuming you want a house with a garage so you can work on your supra. When searching listings tell your agent to also include houses listed with 0 garage space. A lot of times Realtors get lazy and dont always put in the correct...

Electric Fan Controller short to ground

Hey guys, I have a fan controller hooked up to my dual electric fans. I think it is this model. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-30332/ I was working around it and my socket wrench (undoing the headlight bolt on the radiator support) touched the metal wire for the temperature...

A big decision... to sale, or not to sale

That is always a hard decision. It really depends what your plans are in the long run. I would think after the engine and trans rebuild (along with your other work) it should be pretty reliable other than little things like alternators and starters going out. The pic in your avatar looks good...

    Differential differences

I swapped my 1j into an 89 shell with the 3.9 gears. It used to be in an NA sport package with the 4.3 LSD. I personally preferred the 4.3 for the acceleration and around town driving. The 3.9 just feel slow. But in the end I am putting on a gt35r so I figure when I up the boost it will feel...

    Painting the CT26 Heat shield?

I used the VHT high temp paint on the turbo shield of my 1jz. It also says to bake it in the oven, but there is no way I am going to stink up my whole house to do it. If you have an extra oven outside sure why not. You can also cure it on the car by running the motor, directions are on the...

    Fuel Octane for a JZA70

Yah, I dont know what the big deal is about higher octane. We also get no love on the motor swap tip. Even though an engine runs clean you cant legally run a 1j since it was never offered in the US. And like everyone else said run 93+.

    Fuel Octane for a JZA70

I run 91 in mine. It's the highest fuel I can get in California. Everywhere else gets like 92 or 93. I would suggest running the best pump gas you can afford especially if it is modded.

Its that time again... the next F&F, with a new feel it seems

Yah he did. But I think this pre dates it at least that was what the yahoo blurb about it said. I wonder if they used an MKIII as the lead car if it would bring the value up on them like the MKIV lol... I hated the first one for that reason. I could have bought a TT MKIV pre F&F for 15k...

I will watch it, But unfortunately they keep going away from the import culture and trying to make it more of action chase, cops and robbers film.

What was the very first car you ever owned?

Mine was a 66 Ford Rustang with a gutless inline 6 with a hole in the hood. Friends always laughed that it was a bullet hole. I had plans for it but decided I didn't want it anymore and sold it.
