It's a crap shoot. They claim low mileage, and while there is a good chance that they have less miles than a comparable US motor, they have no idea how many miles are on them when they get them from Malaysia junk yards (yes, most come from Malaysia, not Japan). The exporter's QC control can...
I agree with both Gixxer and jetjock. However, I will add a few pennies to the pot.
After rebuilds or head work, I have always found the need to adjust idle using the screw. First of all, adjust all throttle body/tps settings to spec. Then let it run for a while to let the ecu learn engine...
the n/a uses a different type of afm than the turbo and lexus. flapper vs kharman. The signals are not the same. Without some kind of converter, you will not get it to work.
Check the connection of the 15A ecu-ig fuse in your kick panel. I had the exact same problem, where the abs light is on, the cc didn't work, and neither did the tems. I found the receptacle for that fuse was not making contact with the fuse.
The only thing I can figure is that lower one is meant to be a drain. Either you cap it or add an external valve. The oil wouldn't even register on the sight glass before it just drained right out of that fitting. When is someone going to market a real catch can, like the oil separators they use...
And how would you heat it to get steam? The Crower engine uses the principle that the previous exhaust stroke contains enough heat to vaporize the water. Your intake stroke would cool the chamber down, and you'd need some external source of heat to vaporize the water.
interesting it has a port at the bottom. Website doesn't show how it woks. Must be a dual chamber of sorts, becasue if its just an empty canister, the oil would all come out of the bottom pipe. I see the cover is removable with screws. Would you mind opening it up and taking some pics of the inside?
As Chris stated, the strokes on the Crower engine is
1 intake
2 compression
3 power
4 exhaust
5 steam power
6 steam exhaust
The way the Crower engine works is the water is injected after the 4th stroke. There is no valve opening, just the water injected into the cylinder. It expands...
Are the lights for the tems lit up at all? I had a problem shortly before I sold it where the abs light was on and the tems didn't work (all the tems lights were off). I traced the problem to a 15A fuse (can't recall which one off the top of my head) in the kickpanel was not making contact, as...
^^^ Totally agree. Getting a license is just WAY too easy. Your 20min test drive was about 2X longer than mine was. I drove around the block a few times, did a 3 point turn, then drove back to the DMV. Tests should be more difficult. I know in Spain (at least it used to be like this) you have to...
I have never had a good experience with mechanics. I do all my own work now. If I havent done it before, I learn about it. If I don't have the tools, I buy them. I figure I can pay up to 2-3x what I would pay someone else to do it if I must on tools, and I'll have the equipment to do it again if...
