    Oil pressure check

I looked around and am just not 100% sure if the ports I`m looking at are indeed leading to a correct place to install the gauge. I`m going to remove the oil pressure sensor and plug it in there. Will it leak any oil once removed?

    Oil pressure check

How do I check my oil pressure? I have a vacuum gauge that says it works for checking oil pressure. I've read the TSRM and it's just unclear to me. I can't figure out where exactly to plug in the oil pressure gauge. Do I unscrew the oil pressure sensor that has the electric clip on the end and...

    Discouraging Rebuild

So I compression tested my engine and the results were better then previously: 1. 138 psi 2. 140 psi 3. 140 psi 4. 145 psi 5. 135 psi 6. 140 psi Also after letting it idle for longer the exhaust is definitely blue. It feels steamy when I put my hand up to it but that's subjective. Currently the...

    Engine support missing?

This thread got me looking around at braces and sure enough, he removed the one by the turbo as well. Looks like I'll be sourcing out 2 braces.

    Discouraging Rebuild

So here are my problems: - bubbling noise from the back of the engine audible from inside the car. - white/gray smoke coming from exhaust - poor compression (however only 6 and 3 are low and bump back up after oil is added) Now I know these are symptoms of the BHG, however it all doesn't...

swapping an originaly automatic 7mgte and harness into a 5 speed shell. any issues?

i belive these are the correct wires to connect to bypass the neutral safty. but again im not to great at reading wiring diagrams. especially when there hacked apart like on TSRM. if you want to bypass the neutral start switch just plug the B-W and B-L together. That's all I did to...

    Engine support missing?

Ah gotcha so it's just a mounting point for that resevoir. I just wanted to make sure it didn't lead to someone because my car has been leaking fuel and coolant and it was getting into those holes. My bad mistaking it with the J-Tube. As for that brace, I agree it be okay for some time but...

    Engine support missing?

Ok wait I was thinking of the wrong port: From this picture what is that rounded square port that is on the block there for? The one directly overtop of the engine mount. Should something be plugged into that?

    Engine support missing?

Okay interest, so it's not that critical.

    Engine support missing?

Yeah, there's no tube going into that port, yet there is no block-off plate either. I see that doesn't make sense now, I'll check that when I get home. Maybe I'm looking at a different port. When I removed my intake manifold I remember looking at a port and wondering what should plug into it...

    Engine support missing?

Ok cool, I'll source that engine brace out. Now for the fuel line, Is it necessary to block it off with a plate? Also are there any cons assosiated with removing the J-tube? Such as higher fuel pressure? My fuel system is all stock. My car is idleing high and won't drop down, is this a...

    Engine support missing?

So I saw this picture that belongs to someone else on the forums: Now on my car, that brace that connects the intake manifold to the engine mount is missing. The previous owner must've removed it and not put it back. I know he removed lots of things for weight reduction but this doesn't...

Bypassing neutral safty switch for auto engine swap into 5 speed chassis

Plug those two together that you have circled (B-L and B-W) and that's it. I just pigtailed mine and put a screw on cap on them, however I'm going to solder them with a nice connection soon. Some people choose to wire it up so your car won't start unless the clutch is depressed, on my car I just...

    Possible oil burning

Yeah it's possible the HG blew. The motors been rebuilt with ARP studs and a MHG so I hope that's not what happened. I'll buy a combustion leak tester and check for fuel in my coolant.

swapping an originaly automatic 7mgte and harness into a 5 speed shell. any issues?

You'll have to bypass the neutral start switch and custom wire the reverse lights.

    Possible oil burning

So after fixing coolant and fuel leaks my car has a few symptoms: -Idle around 1500-1800, after the car warms up the idle doesn't drop back down. -After the car warms up, the exhaust sputters white smoke on and off. This white smoke smells to me like it's burning oil -The oil pressure...

    Gas leak

Yeah that's what I was thinking. The previous owner has it hooked up with the BOV and a port that runs to the back of the head. I bought a new fuel up VSV to hook up. I idled my car for 5 mins and no signs of the leak.

    Gas leak

I removed each of the injectors, on injector 3 the grommet was ripped in half and completely cracked. The O-ring also had a tear in it. Also the spacers with the black tube around them were installed with the black part toward the head and the other end towards the fuel rail. From looking at the...

    Gas leak

So i replaced the damper with a new one, and it's not leaking anymore. However gas is still pouring out in my engine bay, so i'm going to replace the injector o-rings. Is there a good way to check if it's the cold start injector? I recently removed the CSI so maybe I installed it incorrectly...

    Gas leak

Okay so pulled the pulsation damper and sure enough one copper washer was missing and a small one was installed on the top, making a gap between the damper and it's connection. I replaced both washers and tightened the damper. When I run the fuel pump, gas shoots out the top of the damper. A lot...
