his car is still mass air, so even tho it is sucking lots of air past the TB it still should idle, just elevated. correct? its not like a vacuum leak, or is the isc adjusting all the way out and then resetting to cause the sweeping "idle"?

have you tried swapping you ISC? i had an issue just like this when i did my n/a-t swap. my car was acting just like yours but it would rev to 3k and then 1k then 3k ect.
the only other time i have seen something similar is when i did a gte swap and the timing belt stretched after first...
tools: get a 12mm deep well socket and two 6 inch extension and a universal in 3/8's (and ratchet) also a screw driver for the interior. also a 10mm line wrench and a vice grip just in case of the clutch line being frozen
step 1: loosen the clutch line from the cylinder
step 2: remove interior...

you need a tighter gap on a turbo motor on a stock ignition and stock heat range plug.
advising otherwise is very misleading.

rule of thumb over 500 whp go forged for the reliability. i know others have done much more on stock internals but my crowers and je's help me sleep at night

that combo is in a car that had made 480rwhp. it works just make sure to bypass the clutch switch for starting the car...... or plan on replacing thrust bearings.
it has to do more with how long you are brake boosting. as far as how hard it is on parts i would venture to say it is easyer on the drive train then flat out smashing the throttle from a stop. atleast when BB you have already taking up all the slop in the drive train so you are shocking every...
