    Silicone hose switchover question

Hey all, has anyone had problems using factory toyota spring pressure clamps when installing new silicone hoses? Just curious before i begin, the small hose kit i bought did not come with clamps. Im thinking of using fuel line clamps throughout...

Thats good enough for me thanks, i have a 2 ton winch with a boom arm. It holds less weight as the boom is extended. Just making sure it will handle the load.

    Engine and tranny weight???

Hey guys, so I'm pulling the engine out of my 1988 Toyota supra 7mgte. There's nothing left on the block but the water pump and timing belt housing upfront. Does anyone out there know how much the short block and manual transmission weighs together?

    Pulling my 7mgte

I am pulling it all together minus the head and pully assembly. Noticed the edge of the teeth on the flywheel are a bit worn and the slave cylinder is full of gooky rust but thats the worst so far. Thanks for the info! :)

    Pulling my 7mgte

Hey all. I'm in the process of pulling my engine out to send it to be decked and rebuilt. I was wondering if anybody out there knows if the propeller shaft inlet needs to be unclipped or anything or if when you pull the motor and tranny it just slides out? Everything else is out-of-the-way and...

    Gauges holders?

Yeah, I didnt re wire it, just piggybacked off of the starter wires using factory relay. I added a hidden on/off switch on one of the lines. So the key ignition still works. I moved the power port and added usb's mounted in the center console change holder now.

    Block and exhaust manifold planing

Ive decided to pull it. Cost wise it's way worth it and for my peace of mind. I will do a full rebuild. The basic kit is under 200. The pistons and walls look good. I found a machine shop to prep the block for under 500. Guess I wont be driving her this year.

Repairing top seals and rear wells

Here is a close up of the problem areas, the factory sealant lets water by over time as the seals shrink/warp.

Chemical rust removal for solid parts

The rust is softr than the steel, it basically turns the rust to goo leaving the pure steel almost totally rust free. Of course some wire brushing is needed to speed the process every two hours but here are my results in one day. For some reason I cant get the final pic to load on my phone or...

Repairing top seals and rear wells

If the side seals against the door glass are at fault you can just remove the seal up to the window edge and add shims to the back of the mounting/slide bracket to help sealing against glass :)

Repairing top seals and rear wells

Inside the top rear seal corners ,(if that is where the leak is coming in which is the trouble spot) there are steel brackets molded into the seal at each corner. Over time they bend, loose shape or rust. The driver side bracket in mine was pile of rust, totally gone. So i removed both...

    Gauges holders?

If you enjoy updating older vehicles that have a lasting value like a supra do it right, take your time and look at a mod from all angles at least 20 times! Lol. Save all parts you remove in baggies and try not to modify factory parts to a point where they cant be reverted. Parts are harder to...

    Gauges holders?

Yeah. Plastic is a pain to work with and get to look good. Thin metal works great, easy to fasten and mount and is forgiving if it needs tweaking. Metal is also more paintable and vinyl sticks better around curves/bends.
