Nice, thats what I was thinking but didnt have one to try, Just figured that i should be able to do it as people said with the wire from ignitor. but Yea good call il just do that as its easier anyway.
So have been trying to check base ign timing on my friends 1jz and I cant seem to get a signal for the timing light, I was told it was the green wire from the ignitor but cant get a signal from it..... tried by the ignitor, and by the no 1 coil. Do I need some different light or what? Sounds...
So does anyone know what pins from the ecu go up to the check engine light on a jz so I can just tap into em with an led or buzzer? tried looking at ecu diags but didnt find much that was useful
So Im trying to monitor vf to tune with maft basic and my issue is that im getting 2.2v all the time, adjusting maft makes no difference in this.... ontop of afrs not being correct. i.e. It might be 11 afr at idle and you can change airflow signal to make it lean and still 2.2v the whole time...
So my walbro finally started dying, runs but wont hack it, so I pulled the pump out of my parts car which someone had previously replaced. im beginning to wonder if its a mk4 pump or some other pump than the stock one. part number is 195130-0271 2J with a 22 above the 0271. anyone know what...
yea definitely robbing power with arking coils, and stock rx catback doesnt help. assuming it should make 300 wheel or nearly, and is in a fc, thing should be sideways pretty easily.
So I know things like this are hard to judge and fast is a relative term.... but shouldnt a stock 1jz in an fc be pretty fast? my friend seems to think that this thing isnt running badly, but logically it should be alot faster? he also has an fc with a 13b turbo around 200 ish hp and the jz...
he checked it yesterday and lowest cyl is 175 and highest is 190. also found a a small fuel leak and 2 arcing coils haha. that doesnt help things. also exhaust goes into the stock rx7 n/a exhaust halfway back. it has twins, not sure if its a70 or chaser 1jz. thanks, il check through the jz...
So a friend just picked up a 1jz swapped fc rx7 and of course Im supposed to help him get it running right. Only having 7ms myself I dont know a lot about 1js so I have a few quick questions, tried searching and skimmed through the translated manual and couldnt find. Im gonna give it a good once...
Exactly! this idea has been stuck in my head for a while involving mk3 stuff.
Another guy I met at a hillclimb had an sti that he caged and then cut away the whole car but the floorpan and shock towers, then added more cage. thing is a beast. 600 hp, 650 lbft 2000 lbs. he also has a rollcage...
really ratrod wasnt what I meant by what im planning/hoping/scheming for. more like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD0EQggALzo Seen several different things like this which are common at different hillclimbs, this was at mt washington climb to the clouds that I was at. so itd be cage tying...
I guess ratrod isnt the right word, Im talking open wheel, caged. 7m with supra suspension. Giant gocart. wouldnt be street legal obviously. this isnt uncommon in hillclimbs, etc
I drove my mk3 for the past 3 years all winter, good set of snows, stock suspension, made some big ol rally flaps to put on it.
goes like a tank. so much fun. and as for snow tires, Il never go a winter without them, the fun and safety factor is night and day from all seasons.
Not sure this is the right place to ask this, but anyone know of anybody whos ever made a ratrod from ma70 subframe down suspension? Im looking at this stuff in my driveway and its starting to make me think........ How badass would that be?
If I start now I may have something to outrun...
Dude, 4runner for sure. things are dead reliable. friends has 200k and it still runs like a top. i think hes done a maf and o2s on it in the last 150k. and oil changes of course.
