lol.. if (and I believe that must be "close" to true) this is true, then I would have been better to stay with the stock filter... :)
The Supra MK3 engine bay is the hottest one I have encountered so far... so I think having it shielded will help slightly... but the rest apparently is just hype.
The sad thing was.. the car ran perfectly fine prior to this. I took it in for heater core, brakes and clutch master/slave.
After I took it in.. I told them to go ahead and put on HSD coilovers so I could drop the car a bit and I wasn't happy with stock old shocks and their cornering issues...
Well.. here's some shots for the Heater core replacement... (for interest)
DASH BOARD
Leaking
Can you say shot to hell
Fixed now.. finally... but I got some carpet cleanup and antifreeze removal to do from the floor pan on that side... there was a fair bit there.
of all the items on my build list.. this was the one that featured most dominantly. After 3 years of reading about HG failure... I opted for a properly decked block and ARP studs. Unless there are other erroneous issues I missed, I should never have to retorque or worry about the head.
My whole purpose to the engine build/upgrades was to have a Supra that is damn fun to drive, rock solid.. and out of the shop long enough to enjoy a summer for once...
Hasn't occured yet.
Not interested in dyno-queening it or putting it on a track (although running a couple quarters just to...
no :D These are waiting for my car to get the interior finished, then going to be putting in 6" up front and get a new amp for my rear subs.
But they do exist. I dont know if the seller of that group buy has any more in stock or not, but if you search for speaker pods on here, you may find...
Maybe this will help as well? I bought a pair and have them sitting beside me.. lol. Havent put them in the car yet...

I run K&N... inside the stock air cleaner box. Should I be changing that out to either the AEM or Apexi? I think K&N advertises heavier and is therefore found more.. not sure if it performs any worse/better.
Aren't both AEM dry flow and K&N "oiled" filters?
Liking the Apexi, but not sure if...
Well after reading this, I think I am going to have to go stand alone. I am thinking of using the Apexi Power FC Engine Management Stand Alone as the shop that is fixing my vehicle is a dealer for them and can tune with it.
With the tuning + Stand alone and installation, I think I gotta sock...
If I understand it all correctly, if your running under 700 hp (crank?) then Oem pistons are up to the task?
I looked at the mega squirt. It looks like it would do nicely, not sure who can tune with it in Calgary.
Without it, I am now thinking, I am relying on everything functioning properly...
maybe i worded that wrong.. they rattle more because of the reasons you just gave. This isn't truly piston slap that would damage anything but if its too much it can set off the knock sensors.
Your explanation makes a lot of sense though. Thank you.
hmm... okay.. now I dont feel safe running without standalone.. lol.
My tune will be okay, but it is on stock electronics... so I think I will hold off on going higher boost until I can afford to swap in a standalone. Will do the intercooler first.. as that is slated for next September. Will...
Yeah, not talking about the wisecos, I got them (and paid the extra) because I was under the impression that it was unsafe to run OEMs at 15 psi or higher. Just was checking if this was true. I would have preferred to stay OEM if that was possible (money and other small issues) Stand alone would...
Just wondering if I understand this correctly and looking for clarity so if I discuss it, I dont come across as an idiot.
Just rebuilt my shortblock and had to do a lot of talking/searching/reading prior to ensure I dont do it twice. Now I think I may have misunderstood something and want to...
there is no such thing as "real world experience" that covers everything. My research is the same as the OP... ask those who have done it.. see what they say. Add that to the knowledge base. My engine just got upgraded and I was trying to be super safe on the build.. and all the people I talked...
You guys are telling him to up his boost... I think that's a mistake, so correct me if I'm wrong..,
On a stock shortblock with an oem headgasket, your advising above 15 psi. While the turbo would take it, I'd be worried about the pistons and head gasket. My research dictates 15 psi+ to be...
Can someone tell me.. which direction does the blower motor go? Clockwise or Counterclockwise?
I think its counterclockwise... just want confirmation...
Just as a reference for later on.
Deleted my posts past this point.
Can someone confirm the fan should be working in a counterclockwise...
