I figured out the problem. I tested power at the iacv and found it was on switched ignition power, not main relay power like it should be. I still don't know where I went wrong with the wiring, so I ran new wires to main relay power from the fusebox. So nice to have idle control!

It should be fine. I'd fix what you've noted and take a really close look at both housings for cracks.

Suddenly my 1JZ cuts fuel when given over half throttle. Dies and wideband reads full lean. Once it drops under 1700 rpms, it returns to normal. Drives normally as long as you don't give it more than half throttle. My ECU went bad and I had it repaired by Driftmotion. The IACV still doesn't work...

Remove the drain plug, check for any metal. Remove the shifter and pour in 3.2 quarts of Redline MT90. Good luck.

It was fine on disassembly of the broken one, I ended up breaking the 1-2 shift fork. I was merciless on the old r154, going to go easier on this one for sure.

Turns out the driveshaft yolk was hitting the dust shield. Never been so relieved.

They are pretty beefy. You can trash the 1st gear thrust washer and break shift forks when abusing them like I was, though.
