SupraSport LIPP high flow elbow pics

Post some pictures if you can. Might be interesting to turn this thread into a collection of NLA parts.

SupraSport LIPP high flow elbow pics

I'm going through some boxes of parts to sell and found this relic. Figured I'd post some pictures here for posterity and because I'll probably never see another one again. I went with a one-piece downpipe from the CT-26 but every now and then I think about swapping this back in. SupraSport...

7M-GE main cap bolts and connecting rod bolts reusable?

Some fasteners are torque-to-yield, or locking by distorting the threads. These are just plain old bolts, so you're good to reuse them if they come off easy and you don't see any visible signs of stretching or necking. Time to tear into it. There was some discussion of the crank being surface-...

7M-GE main cap bolts and connecting rod bolts reusable?

Since the rod bolts press in, they stand a chance of deforming the conrods. Hence the ARP instructions to resize once they're in. A thou is actually pretty significant when talking about bearing clearance. Here's the factory spec, so you're basically shooting for 1-2 thou clearance to match the...

7M-GE main cap bolts and connecting rod bolts reusable?

I was happy to find a complete engine, ECU, etc. so the swap would be straightforward. Much nicer to keep everything lined up with the service manuals and not use workarounds. There isn't much to be done for the GE to make power. As far as parts, almost everything can be swapped between the...

7M-GE main cap bolts and connecting rod bolts reusable?

I don't know if it's necessarily true that using ARP for main caps will change clearances. Their rod bolt kit instructions do say that connecting rods should be re-sized after installation since those are press-fit, but the main caps just drop right over the ARP studs. The GE was still in...

7M-GE main cap bolts and connecting rod bolts reusable?

I reused my main bolts and connecting rod bolts with absolutely no issue, following the TSRM instructions for a rebuild on my GE back in...08-09? Put about 40k on it before I pulled it for a GTE swap. Now I need to find the GE a new home since it's just sitting in the corner of the shop taking...

    Back after a long hiatus

Hey guys, Time I start looking around here again. The time is fast approaching for me to swap engines, especially if I can find one on the BST here :) I've basically put the Mk3 in cold storage since getting an IS250 and I really miss the rattles and shakes that a 25 year old car has. Grown...

    Long Time No Speak

There isn't much that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I rebuilt my GE and wished ever since I'd just done a full swap and refresh. It's coming up soon.

    What are you reading?

Finished "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes, halfway through "Dark Sun - The Making of the Hydrogen Bomb", same author. Both excellent books, I'd highly recommend them!

    PCV hose diameter?

Strange, I've been using 3/8 fuel hose since 2006 with no ill effects, Still as soft as when I installed it, I went ahead and used the little wire clamps because I still had the full set and they fit with no hassle.

    Minimize brake squeal with chamfer?

I've got some orange CRC brake quiet in a bottle, but I thought that was to adhere the pads to the steel backing plates. Can I put a coating on the back and just let it cure before installation if I don't have the plates? I might have to look for that Permatex, thanks for the tip!

    Minimize brake squeal with chamfer?

Getting ready to change brake pads and rotors since I've got the front hubs apart for the wheel bearings and had a quick question: I've had Brembo rotors on the past few years with Porterfield R4-S pads and they've always squealed under light pressure at lower speeds (never been bothersome...

Looking for a used car, possibly GS300

Exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. IBAS, thanks for the tip! I should be sensible and get a small car with the way gas prices are going.
