I was just putting my motor together and would like some input on how close to put the mesh on the bottom of the oil pickup tube to the bottom of the oil pan. I was figuring about 1/4 inch.
I LOVE cometic gaskets. I have even RE-USED them a second time. Not once have I had a problem. This was at 17 pounds and beating the crap out of the car EVERY SINGLE DAY!
Also, that is cast iron, and is harder to weld, would cost more than just welding steel due to having to heat up/ cool down the part prior and post welding.

One thing some guys, and I will be doing, is grind two of the 24 teeth off of the cam position sensor, 180 degrees apart. then you program the computer for a 12-1 crank signal.
