The last time I had my machine shop resurface parts I was like I need an RA of X for my MHG(forgot what it was nowadays lol)...They laughed at me and was like thats sandpaper we'll take care of it for you and it came out freaking mirror like sooo I don't know their process is but it WORKS.
haha ok ya I thought u were saying I was wrong no biggie.....:biglaugh:
Rennat:
Nothing is wrong with buying the "Clevite77's/NDC's" I've bought 3 set's of them over the years. I just wanted to make sure you knew they were not the real old fashioned "clevite77's" they are repackaged...
Hey man not to rain on your parade but I'll 95% bet you those are not "REAL" Clevites. Take the bearings out of the Boxes and look on the back they will be stamped with "NDC". I've bought over three set's of "clevite77's" over the last 2/3yrs and not one set were true Clevites.
Good luck on...
Well I'm going to be Full Ferrea Valve train. Will those Springs be enough ?
What kind of Cam would you Suggest? I've read mixed reviews on the BC's.
Adjuster: I think I'm going to end up getting new pistons rather then use my old ones even though they have under a hundred miles on them...
I'm not calling anybody out. I wish him all the luck BUT that being said don't throw that 700hp+ figure around lightly it is an extremely difficult task.
6-7 7m's running 700hp in one area ?
I don't live on the boards by any means but I don't know if we have 7 7m's running 700hp on here.
But Good Luck on your Goals !
Just wondering. You can search my name/build thread and see an engine bay with pretty much everything that can be removed is. I'm re-doing my build now however and I'm going for HIGH Hp. However I'm still researching all the machine work that is required(all the little tips and tricks...
You don't need to bring the oil pump.....just the new Aux Bearings and the oil pump drive shaft(Aux Shaft)
Here is the TSRM for it:
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=EM&P=84
You'll need new Aux Bearings. IJ suggested you bring the AUX shaft into the machine shop at the same time as sometimes when new bearings are installed the shaft doesn't fit. Then the machine shop needs to machine some off to make it all fit.
Yes the hot tanking ruins the Aux Bearings and Freeze Plugs.....After being burned by Machine Shops that should know things. I wouldn't take it for granted and call and have them press in new ones for you !!!!
Back on topic:
Rich thanks for the advice the Thermal cleaning definitely is...
Oh and whats the difference and benefits over Thermal cleaning to hot tanking.
I know hot tanking ruins the freeze plugs and aux bearings but those are being replaced.
Also I have 40over wiseco's that I'm thinking about switching out for 20over something and I've seen those Titan Pistons...
Ok, so it really would be ok to go outside of toyota's max clearance?
I can understand what your saying as far as those specs were made for 2xx HP with 30wt oil 20yrs ago.
So since My power output goal is soo much higher we need to take that into account.
Thanks for your input
