You are feeling 4th gear. (slim chance of third) That happens when both shift solenoids have no power. From as standstill the #1 shift solenoid should be energized.
Either:
Your ECT ecu is unplugged
#1 solenoid shot (and possibly #2)
#1 solenoid wiring shot (and possibly #2 wiring)
#1 and...
Yup - whatever power you're going to make from the pre-spool device is going to be pulling as much power as it would take to spin a supercharger from the motor anyway via the water pump or alternator, so you might as well throw a supercharger on there since they're ready-made and relativley cheap.
It's no secret - it's a basic in the list of ingredients for a "built" motor. It's nothing I'd ever pull a motor to get done if nothing else was wrong though...
Open loop to closed loop doesn't switch at a set rpm. At low rpm the a/f can be wildly different depending on load. You need to actually see a wideband output, and then you could see why we don't do this.
It's a good idea to at least ground your radiator well. You should also be changing your fluid on the specified schedule and using only distilled water to avoid the coolant acidity and resulting Electrolytic Metal Erosion that the zinc rod would be there to prevent...
Stock gears with the offset bushings are still as good and 1/10th the price...

For the price I just glanced at the page and only saw the 250$ switch with display. 50$ for 2 is a good price, too bad they won't work. The msd switch will, it's about $45 and you have to buy pills for it as well. Check out summit racing.
You want the IGT wire.

And damn, that's an expensive rpm switch, if you're just using it for that...
What kind of switch is it? Got a link to see the specs? How do you configure the switch - ie: rpm signal varies by car, # of cylinders, ect... IGT would output a square wave - is that what you tried already?
Have you lubed your roof tracks? My 92 got so that it wouldn't close without me helping it along - you could be overloading the motor / relay on the unlubed track.
