Mine was the same. I ground off some from the lower portion on the block side to get it to fit a little deeper, and just used a small drift to tap it in until it was snug. It never did bottom out, but it's only about 3/8" or so short. At the full mark the oil will only be at most 1/2 liter or so...
In Canada, I've used Tremclad semi gloss black - $6 a can. 10 years now going strong, though the car has been sitting for several years now. I sanded to bare metal first, then acetone to clean. Really, it's all about the prep...do it well and you will get a good long life from it.
It's cool unless the bearing seal ruptures and you end up with a face full of grease...like mine did...though I have to say that was the first time I've ever seen that happen!
There was nothing better when we used to travel to distant meets all the time. Cell phones can't hold a candle to 10-15 CB's in a convoy of supras rolling down the interstate!
Everyone and their brother in Japanese tuning made a twin turbo kit back in the day. Of course, one only needs to look at the price of the HKS twin kit for the 2J and know there is no real benefit since the advent of the ball bearing turbo to know why nobody does it.
That said, I've been...
Some are up. We changed forum software earlier this year and quite a few of the galleries have not been rebuilt.

hmmm. I always thought the SOC folks in Japan were longer running, but their revised site lists 97 as the first meet year for them. I guess I can revise the posts for next year. Thanks Keith!
Late info I know given it runs August 15-17, but the details have just been posted. The longest running meet in North America is back for the lucky 13th time!

you could speed it up by lifting the nose off the ground or pointing up a steepish incline. Cycle the heater on and off as well several times to help "burp" it. I also like to squeeze or wiggle the hoses around the engine bay as well.
There's a lot of dimensions that say probably not beyond the length.
I don't think it's going to be wide enough from that drawing...strut tower bolt to tower bolt is only about 27 inches...count on losing 4 inches for the steel on the towers themselves, and a little more between the frame...
When I had the tank redone years back I saved the 1/2 tank for the lawnmower...it wouldn't start on the stuff after about a year and a half without a can of ether to get it rolling. I wouldn't try that with my car if I were you...
They were originally marketed so a car like a CRX could have a front to back facing muffler and still get some noise reduction. Given the space we have under there, I can't see a need, but whatever floats your boat!
