car still doesnt run, im gonna sum it up so hopefully i can get some more help. have a 89+ jdm motor in a 87. swapped sensors and what not, changed connectors on the harness, got the motor in the car. it will crank but wont fire. i checked for spark with no luck. checked resistance in coils (all three were .8 ohms, spec is .3-.5) with 12v. 12v also to ignitor, didnt do the 3v test. check resistance at cps, 170 spec is 140-180; also check at the ecu the confirm wires are ok. i redid timing, everything at tdc, cps installed according to tsrm and shaeff's pic

ive tried another coil pack and two different ignitors. my grounds have continuity to the battery. i bypassed fuel pump relay and tried to start it, just cranked. i then pulled the return line off the j-tube and gas came out, but it came out the gas tank side, not from the j-tube. im kinda confused about this.

if you read this far thank you for you interest, and if you have any idea or whatever, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are sure you do not have spark, then don't worry about fuel. EFI will not work without the spark anyway.

Have you checked the actual voltage over time out put of the cam position sensor, and seen that it does put out. There are gaps you can check with a feeler gauge. There is no shame in paying a proffessional to do it.

What do you mean "changed connectors on the harness"? Does that mean at the ECU or sensors? D you have an 89 ECU?

Answer Jdub's question: Are the ground wires connected at the lower rear of the intake manifold? Does the check engine light come on with the key on? Does the tach flicker when you crank? Sound to me like either no power to the ECU or no CPS input. Have you measured the CPS output while cranking? You really need to do some signal tracing like Nick said. Until you get spark the injectors are not going to work.

In the entire thread I see one reference to codes and it was a mistake. Check them again.

i have an 87 ecu and harness with a 89+ jdm motor. i switched the sensors on the motor so it will work with a us spec car. i changed the connectors on the 87 harness to work with the different connectors on the 89+ motor.

ground wires are connected on the rear of the intake manifold

ill have to check the cel

the tach does flicker when it cranks.

as for codes i check them each time i try something, hoping it will tell me whats wrong... i get a fast steady blink. i also checked fuses to make sure none blow. thanks guys for the input, i really do appreciate it.
