j/k...dont mean to seem forceful, but what idealsupra says does make more sense and it is the reasoning behind my build.

and like i said before, if you need anyhelp, just ask, mine should be done about a month or so.:biggrinki

well if your going with an upgraded turbo then you will need more fuel and when i get there, im going with the lexus afm, 550 cc inj, and walbro 255 combo, and also the aeromotive apfr. dont forget to get a different throttle body for that ffim, im not sure but i dont think that the stocker works for that.

new oil pump!
arp main studs
arp flywheel bolts
new freeze plugs
new oil pump driveshaft bearings

i added a few rather important things.

also.....all that work and youre gonna use a ct? lol BIC dp is for a ct...

on top of that 2mm hg with wiseco 9:1 pistons will (assuming your block and head havent been decked before and will need a "normal" size of material removed) will leave with you around 8.5:1 compression(about stock)... just make sure thats what you want.

thanks for the adds I should add a new flywheel to the equation

im looking to get between 350 and 400 hp and 935 sells the ct26 upgraded 57 trim that should get you there on a "healthy" motor so why not the ct?

well thats fine......just a lot of extra money for forged internals if youre only aiming to make power that the stock internals can handle like a walk in the park. thats all i was saying.

If you wanna swap, do it. Don't let anyone discourage you. Just make sure you do your research and know what you're getting yourself into, not just trying to bandaid the problems you had with your 7M.

but it looks like you're going forward with your 7M, so good luck. :)

lol.... now slow down.... if you just blew the headgasket and the bottom end wasnt knocking or anything then yeah sure just fix the hg and make sure you flush the hell out of the oil and cooling systems and fix it right and youll be fine.

HOWEVER if you are going to rebuild anyways....you can always use stock pistons and rods...if you want a bit more strength shotpeen the rods etc...put in arp bolts.... you dont have to drop 500 for rods and 600 for pistons to hold 400hp....

why not build the motor strong enough in case years down the road he does want to run 10s, then he wont have to spend the money on an internal rebuild, and he can just buy the turbo and ems to get him there. maybe forged internals is a bit overkill for 400whp, but its what im doing as well and like i said years down the road(with more money saved) i will be able to boost my 7m with anything i want without having to worry:evil2:

everything depends on what you expect and will expect out of your supra. if this is just a phase and not a car that you will keep forever, then i wouldnt put forged internals into it, but if this is gonna be a car that is part of the family, then you should treat it like family...lol

Yeah i was talking about stock pistons. For a stock build. They were $84.99 with 15% discount. They came with rings. They're probably, in all likelyhood, old Toyota stock, although they're only cast slugs, cant be that hard or expensive to make them. They look okay, 100% identical to the stock pistons, and seeing as i'm remaining stock only, i see no reason to waste money on a set of forged items just yet.

As for new HG - well you dont need to deck it and machine it if its true, at least for a stock HG. If you're going MHG then you need to machine the head AND the block to iirc 25RA, but for standard HG - just as long as the mating surfaces are clean and true - you dont need to machine anything. If the head is slightly warped front to back, then it'll pull itself back flat, just remember to tighten it in the right order. If it's warped side to side, then its ballsed, get a new head.

if you say that you are remaining stock, then your plans and this guys plans are completely different......

Ahhh... but forged internals make up for bad tuning. And maybe someday he's gonna want more power and not wanna pull the engine again...
