Here is the deal I have a 87 Supra turbo. I have ordered the Washer squirters 2 times now from two different dealers and keep getting the wrong part. From using the search function. I have figured out that they changed from a large style to a small style somewhere in 88 anyone have the part # for the large style squirters Dealer is no help. Or if you have some for sale let me know. This is the last thing I need to finish my project.

Ummm, mine's an '87, so these are the same "big ones" you're referring to? I haven't ever put any washer fluid in and don't know if it even works, so I could hook you up with my old crap ones. You just asked about buying my mirror(s) too.

When you order, give them the VIN. You'll ALWAYS get the correct part when doing that.

No, you don't always get the correct part.

If your hood was never changed, you'll get the correct washer nozzles, however, if your hood was ever replaced (even if it was a brand new hood from the dealer), and it wasn't a used hood from a pre-89, you need to order nozzles for an 89-92.

The 86.5-88 hood part number has a multiple-supersession to the 89-92 hood and 89-92 nozzles. If the hood was replaced, those are the nozzles you need to order.

There's no way inputting a VIN number could tell a parts person that information.

There are only 2 types of nozzles, the pre-89 and the 89+, if the pre-89 ones you are ordering are not fitting correctly, order the 89+ nozzles, they should fit.

I'm sure you guys deal with the VIN to order parts. It is 99.9% reliable. That one tenth of a percent when it isn't is the instance you've just described. At that point, you're dealing with a modified car, and who knows what will/will not fit.

Easy way to tell if he has a factory supplied hood would be the VIN tag located on the hood.

VIN tags on body parts like fenders and hoods are dealer-installed, and were not on the car from the factory, as such, many cars will not have them.

I would say the VIN is 99% accurate, maybe slightly higher, but I do deal with problems with VIN lookups on a daily basis. On older cars like the Supra though, the VIN is almost always accurate. Newer cars sometimes have some issues, especially when looking at stuff like fender flares, chrome bumpers, sonar sensors. You'd be surprised how many times with a VIN in the system something like a Corolla comes up with the system saying no front bumper cover applies, or there are no appropriate doors, etc.

In any case, like I said, if you're getting the wrong nozzles, order the other type. There's only 2. :)

Dealer only shows one part number 86-89. I will try the vin # tomorrow. Let you know how it goes. Don't think the hood has been changed one owner car no damage history. Thanks for the replys.

I'm the dealer. :p

86.5-88 is the same, 89-92 is the same.
Pre-89 is not the same as 89+.

If the hood wasn't changed, the nozzle part number is going to be 85035-14320, if it was changed, it will be 85381-12060.

Jeff, Congrats you are right somewhere in its life the hood must have been changed. With your responce printed out and me directing the parts guy for the proper part# we found it. Thank you for your help.
