For some reason I feel a strong urge to replace every bulb in my car with LED's. I was wondering which site had the least expensive with good quality so I don't buy a 6 dollar bulb that breaks within a week of putting it in. Any suggestions?

yea... that's where i'm at right now. Everything is real cheap except for the right angle 1157 Led bulbs. They're 15.99 a piece and i need like 6. Has anyone tried these out in their 86.5 to 88 taillights?

Or, if anyone wants I can email you a copy of a PDF with a good artice on building your own... then just buy the LED's in bulk off ebay, a few diodes and a resistors and you're set. You also need soldering skills and a dremel helps.

nooooooo. check mouser electronics or all electronics or digikey or a similar electronics store. radioshack has gay prices comapred to these guys, and their selection is huge. cant remember the websites, but just google. if you have problems finding it ive got all the mags from 'em. thicker than phone books so just gimme the part and ill find it.

^^^ I couldn't agree more. Radio Shack sux. I tend to favor DigiKey, but Mouser and All Electronics aren't bad at all either. But if you're buying more than 100 you can't beat those guys from Hong Kong on Ebay... granted I usually go through ebay for smd sizes.

EDIT: I suppose at this point I should issue a word of warning. If you're planning on swapping out your guage lamps with LEDs, a couple of us hae had preoblems using just a LED & resistor combination. It burned up portions of the flexible circuit board on the back of the cluster. I was luckily able to repair mine, as well as another member, the third I recall had to completely swap his out for a good one.

I believe the proper way of addressing this is the use of a diode to reduce the voltage, along with the current reducing resistor.
