So im in the market in the future for a fully rebuilt 7mgte short block with a warranty. I was wondering if there were any trusted companies that people have experience with for these engines. I have tried buying numerous slightly used 7mgte engines and every single one of them has a ton of issues and needs a rebuild, but based on these build threads i see i feel like i would end up paying more to do the rebuild myself (mostly in machine work) than if i were to just buy a rebuilt unit. Thanks for any help.
The engine needs to be MHG ready and have a decent warranty.

Was actually just looking at their site... Though they only seem to have NA motors, and they require a core. Im not sure if they would accept my turbo motor as a core. I would be fine with an NA, but i would have to swap the pistons and drill the holes for the turbo. Their prices are very affordable, but in their pictures they dont show the rear timing cover on the block, which concerns me that they deck the block without it

Send me your engine, I'll rebuild it for you :)

What kind of price range would i be looking at for a stock rebuild ready for MHG? It would likely need to be bored .020 over, i could send you pistons with it. What kind of warranty would there be? Thanks, not looking for exact numbers, just a rough estimate so i know what im looking at

My goals are to have around 300 RWHP and have a reliable daily driven car. I want to use a MHG for safety so i have nothing to worry about. From what i understand, i just need a 100% stock rebuild.

As long as there is no damage to anything, you can get the head and block worked (with a torque plate, of course) and a bore/hone + zero balance in the neighborhood of $1000. I'd charge about $400-500 to blueprint and assemble the engine.

I would recommend a new balancer. Preferably an ATI ;) MHG + ARPs. Do not order a MHG until the machine work is done, as you can't possibly know what size to order beforehand.

I'm pretty confident you could do a very strong, stock rebuild in the neighborhood of $2k-$2500, properly done.

Ok, i guess thats a realistic price range. I probably wont be doing this for a while as i am just starting to build up my funds. The problem is i wish i could do more work myself for a rebuild. I feel confident in my ability to assemble the engine etc. What are your opinions on these websites selling rebuilt units ranging from 500-1500 dollars? Are they doing work improperly? Why are they so cheap? Cheap parts maybe?

You can never tell. Were the rods reconditioned? Was the head and deck actually surfaced properly for a MHG? What quality of parts are in there? Were the bearings properly clearanced? How about the connecting rod side clearance? Thrust clearance properly done?

When you get a blueprinted engine, you should have all of these specifications readily available to you. That'll tell you right there if they are feeding you a line of shit or not.

Ya, thats the problem, you dont really know any of that. They always say they perform such and such where necessary, which tells you nothing. Thats what makes me think they are simply taken apart and honed/slapped together with new bearings. Then they offer a 6 month warranty, and that setup will probably last 6 months, but who knows how much longer after that
