virus protection is overrated. my brain is my anti virus. :p

well all i really do on my computer is check SM, email, DL music, and play TFC.

not too big of a chance of getting a virus that way :biglaugh:

Yea All I do is check SM, talk on AIM, and email, the occasional Ebay to scan for Supra stuff.

I stopped downloading music and deleted Limewire off my computer til I get my Norton updated. firewall, spyware, pop-up protection and all that is still good though.

BF: I used to upgrade every 3 months and always had cutting edge gear, I built this box a few years back and just got to the point it was more than fast enough for everything I do so stopped!

It helped prepare me for modding the Supra as they're both black holes for $$$ :D

Mine's actually quite a bit faster, though I wouldn't mind some 15,000 rpm hard drives (except for the noise). I only have a 500 APC UPS, but that's enough for me. Let's see, I also forgot to mention my monitors (1280x768 17" LCD TV and 1600x1200 20.1" LCD).

IJ, how come you're only running SP1 instead of SP2? I'm currently dual booting with Win XP Pro SP2 and Gentoo Linux.

COMPUTER: Toshiba Satellite laptop
CPU: Pentium 4 rated @ 2.4 GHz (actual is 2.39GHz)
RAM: States as 512MB (actual is 496MB)
MONITOR: 15" but I can and have been thinking of gettin a 17" to plug in to this laptop.
DVD Player & CDRW: Included in the laptop.
EXTERNAL STORAGE: Two internal harddrives converted to external that are connected by the USB port.

I built my last computer a couple of years back. That was a machine and a half still to today's standards.
The laptop is not as fast but at least it is portable and I can take it anywhere with me:) And it is wireless too.

Custom built PVR (personal video recorder) using Windows Media Center as operating system
(not sure about the details, my dad built it a year ago, but just gave it to me when he bought a new unit.)

Monitor: 42" Phillips flat screen (TV) & BenQ 17" flat screen

Wireless keyboard and remote.

I can watch TV and surf the net. Pause, record, fast forward, and rewind live TV. Burn it all onto DVD, store music, videos, etc.

An old POS that has a CD burner that doesn't burn and a USB port that, when penetrated, shuts down the computer. The monitor isn't bad, though. The whole thing was free and it gets me online so I'm not complaining a bit!
