So I am looking for tires for my new rims, I want a little stretch but not a alot what size tires should I run. The rims are 17x9 and 17x8, so far I have been told 225/45 and 235/45. Any help would be grand.

Its up to you. You could run 235/45 or 245/45 up front 265/40 or 275/40 in the rear.

I run 245/45 up front and 275/40 in the rear on Mk4 TT wheels 17x8 and 17x9.5.

Both of the setup mentioned above have no stretch on 17x8 and 17x9 wheels

225/45 and 235/45 would be a good setup for the slight stretch that you're looking for. Your car's stance will have a forward rake appearance.

225/45/17 and 245/40/17 would also be a good consideration.

Sorry no pics of them on the car and I would take some for you but both the front and rear subframes are off getting powder coated right now. I personally love how it looks. I would prefer wide rubber. Better traction. I had a set of 18 inch wheels on it with 225/40 all the way around and didn't care to much for it and the traction was shitty.

265 barely stretch. 255 some, 245 stretch. Can go all the way down to 205.

Id run 255 235 40. Depends on what look you want tho.

Rodel thanks man, how do you think 235/45 would look all the way around?

235/45 will not give any stretch on an 8" wheel.

Optimum width (neither stretching nor bulging) is 235 on an 8" wheel and 255 on a 9" wheel.

If you want a slight stretch I suggest: 215/50/17 on the 8" wheel and 235/45/17 on the 9" wheel.

i've gotta ask why you "want" stretch?
you've played with camber, rolled your fenders, and STILL have clearance issues with a "regular" tire setup?

if not, why stretch.....Stretched tires only work when you need the clearance due to playing with the rest.

I have been playing with the rest of it, the last tire set up I had got tore up for my being so low and the tires being way to huge.

Rodel thanks man I think I am gonna run with what you told me, that right there sounds like a good setup. Hvyman thanks for the input also.
