What Size H3R Extinguisher ?

Hi all,

What size H3R Fire Extinguisher would be prudent for electrical or engine fires ? I am looking at a 1 lb or 2.5 lb as choices. No sense in having one though if their isn't a reasonable chance you could eliminate the fire.

Thanks Jdub. Burried within a fire thread was a suggestion from jetjock that 2,5 lb was good also. Appreciate your reply and consider this a question answered post ^^

If electrical they have a habit of flaring back up after you think they're out
(most pros will snip the battery cables to prevent this)

AFFF based exinguisher.

It will keep the fire out regardless if it is fuel, electrical etc. Cost is higher but it is as always. A system.

and it is not for portability. It is for permanent install. Used in racing

Man car fires always scare the hell out of me...I think I really need to get a fire extinguisher.

First, my compliments on buying an extinguisher. Smart move. Second, I have no idea what "HalGuard" is but, since nowhere do they state it's Halon, it must be a Halon alternative. Not surprising since by law Halon isn't supposed to be used for anything but aviation. That said If I were you I'd spring for the real stuff. That means a blended 1211-1301 aviation unit.
