Think of the A/F's, if it's open at idle/part throttle, then the AFM isn't seeing that extra air comming in, so it's leaning out...
True. Dust in the motor = dust in the oil = premature wear on bearings. Foreign object = FUBAR

I dont have an afm. I just ordered a new Tial bov with the correct spring as I am finding no real support for this thing. Apparently it was originally meant to be used on Rotary motors. Thanks for all the help guys.

You should look on their website at what china's churning out for copies now... It's getting damn hard to tell the difference between the real deal and a fake. Hell, even the fakes are cast with the Tial logo!
