what HG thickness

i did alot of searching dont understand how to do the measurments to find out what thickness HG i need. The head was decked .009 and block was .0010 Do i just add the numbers to what the stock gasket thickness...any help would be grate

3) Stock block = 198.5mm from deck to main bearing saddle

stick tape measue in the bore and measure to the top of the main bearing.

you have only removed 0.01 of material, or 0.254mm. so stock hg + 0.254mm

thanks for the info i added it up and get 1.624mm but im still going to measure the block just to make sure...so ill probly be going wiht a 1.5mm HG un less theres a 1.6mm HG out there

Tape measure,yardstick WTF drugs are you guys on...........

I use a Digital Vernier, if you don't have access to precision measuring equipment err on the side of caution and go the next size up HG, 2mm is usually a safe bet and it's NOT going to make any measurable difference in performance.

The 2mm is usually the safe bet if not sure of dimensions and won't hurt off boost performance, I used to run a 3mm on a new head and block and that's noticable, a real dog off boost.
