Just bought my first Supra (86.5) four days ago, two days ago I ran into a very interesting problem.

I was driving her for the first time longer than a couple blocks, and the check engine light came on, the temp gauge spiked, and i started looking rpms and mph. so i pressed in the clutch to down shift and get off the road and she died. When I stopped and popped my hood, there was a hissing sound coming the BACK of the block and antifreeze was vaporizing and smoking. We towed her home, then today we removed the thermostat and took her for a spin and she was doing fine til the temp spiked, so we pulled over before she died and the same thing was happening.

HELP.

The hose one the back of the engine probably has a hole. Or the metal pipe the wraps around the engine back there may be cracked. STOP DRIVING THE CAR
