Well the supra is running again but I still have that bog after 3k rpm

7M-GTE 89 5spd

So the reason why the Supra did not start was the CPS. We timed it and also followed the book on the CPS setting and the car starts fine and it used to idle fine, The cars BDC is at 13, is that right for the 7m-gte? The car still bogged after 3K rpm. I put in new NGK IRIDIUM IX plugs (now it doesn't idle fine) but I could have possibly gotten the order wrong but isn't it supposed to be 1,6,3,4,2,5? So I let the car warm up and I checked the codes, I got code number 34 and 51. Maybe becuase I am running more boost due to the testpipe and downpipe I blew the lower ic hose and I got massive boost leak? The car has ruff idle. It has no power, and the car jerks really bad. Only reason I am thinking its the lower ic pipes is because I fixed a powersteering leak and it used to leak on the piping also the cps used to leak on it too. I checked cynus for the fireing order but i am confused. Heres the link http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/TechTips/statistics.aspx Fuel system and engine data both give me a grouping for the plugs and I am not sure which one is correct.

Thanks guys

p.s. hope this is better than my last threads

Amazing what following the book will accomplish. You still need to pay more attention to it though: the grouping under "fuel system" refers to the injectors.

Ignition order is 1-5-3-6-2-4 but coil pack secondary wiring is 1-6, 5-2, 3-4. You'll note this occurs when the number of cylinders is halved and the first set is placed above the second...something that's true of all waste spark systems.

34 was/is caused by the boost leak. 51 is likely the TPS. Both are contributing to your rough idle...

yeah I am very impatient, but yet i have more patients than my dad. together we make the patience of a normal person lol. Yeah the Tps isn't calibrated correctly. I will get to it though. I will have to locate the boost leak. Most likely its the lower IC piping because for years the PS fluid was leaking on it and oil from the old CPS was leaking on it. Also think about it 20 years old and 300k miles on it and I am running more boost, It probably has a tear on it, or something. So the coil pack goes 1,6,5,2,3,4 I am thinking thats the order that the plug wires go into the packs yes? Well thanks this weekend I will get to work on it. =D BTW anyone got some lower ic hoses i can buy LOL?

I thought about it and wrote the numbers and made a lil diagram It makes sense to me now thanks I really understand now Alright tomorrow I will fix the fireing order.

Well does anyone know what the BDC on the Supra 7m-gte is? Also whats the correct way the CPS should look like when its in the head? Any pics of both? I just want to double/triple check.

What is BDC? Thats a pretty "hick" way of asking what the ignition timing is in degress before top dead center(BTDC).:icon_bigg Check the TSRM, there is a procedure for checking the ignition timing, however if you are at 13 degress BTDC like you have said, on a warm idle it sounds like you are about right. I do believe you will have to adjust the timing again after you adjust the TPS.

There really is not a way to mess up installing the CPS from an external standpoint. Basically, if the bolt is tight and the flange the bolt goes through is flush against the block then you have it installed correctly. We don't need to dscuss what internal installation issues you could have as it sounds like your timing is about right.

Haha well sorry for sounding like a hick YEEEHAWWW. LOL JK. Alright sounds like I am just about right. I will need to do the TPS and then check the timing, if its off I will just re time it. I gotta look for that boost leak I think thats my biggest factor here. Alright thanks a bunch!
