i tried searching under "weight reduction" but couldnt find anything.

Does anyone know how much weight is in the rear between the rear seats, carpets, mounts and inside trim and speakers??

And, i have a pre 89 one peice wing... is it effective? does it provide anything other then looks?

Thanks guys,
-ryan

Enough to throw your car off balance. Try to remove weight from the front of the car.

cool thanks.. so the wing isnt very useful??? if it isnt im taking it off... i really like wingless supra's

I'll trade hatch shocks with you if you decide to go wingless..

your shocks should have a green sticker, mine have a red..

green-sticker shocks are stronger for holding up the wing, mine was formerly wingless..

Ooh so that's why mine have trouble

Sometimes they hold up the hatch just fine. Other times they slowly start to sink so I have to use a bar to hold it up.

haha, yup, I got a 3 piece just like you...

it's funny, last week I had 4 fully functioning hood/trunk shocks, and now they're all useless (hood shocks are too strong for the CF hood, wing is too heavy for trunk shocks)

FWIW, I had three differant 87 turbo supras with the rear wing. All had the red sticker struts including my present one. My current supra is a low mileage car that I have owned for the last 6 years. After I lift the hatch about 8-12 inches the hatch will agressively open by itself. I beleive these to be factory original.
