ways to cure 7m oiling issues?

im in the process of putting in my motor but i want to shim the pump first. there are no more pics of showing how to do it and was wondering if anyone had any. thanks

I'm with jdub on that (God, how many times have I said that? LOL) - ditch the stock head. It's a serious engineering flaw imho with this engine.

Did that from day 1, also did it on my old TTv8 240z back in the late 1980's as the 4V Toyota uses the same joke of a cooler circuit.

"Hey lets fit a pressure based cooler"

" Damn it's open more when the Oil is coldNthick and is over cooling the Oil"

"Ok we'll just make the heat exchanger tiny that'll solve it"

ok, so how much of a oil pressure gain are we talkin about here? supposed to shim it 5mm (so a couple of small washers equiv to 5mm in thickness on the inside end of the spring in te oil pump right??) currently im running around 40psi at cruising on the interstate and about 20psi while idle... and im withini specs in the book but need more oil pressure to help with the oiling problems tat could occur under tough use...
