Ok I looked today and can't figure it out. I know with out looking you prob cant figure it out either but worth a try....

When it rains hard water is leaking into my car from...
I looked and dumped buckets of water over my roof down the hatch and can't see anything. The passenger seat is getting pretty wet. Some water was holding in my trunk but i took out the plugs and now nothing holds there. I have a sunroof but siliconed the shit out of it thinking it was coming from there. well its not. Any ideas on where it could be coming from and i'm missing it.

Normal spots water leaks through?

The molding on the passenger side window is coming off a little bit. Prob like 1/8 of an inch. could it be there?

Thanks
Brian

If it was a windshiled seal wouldn't the dash be wet as well as both seats being wet? The window seal is that the molding that is around the window or the rubber that is on the inside of the window?

Moulding = trim (exterior)
The seal is beneath the glass. See #04562 here

If that seal is leaking, the location of the effects depend on where it's leaking. If the top's leaking, you'll usually notice water on the inside of the windshield or if driving in wet conditions it may show up as dampness along the far front edge of the roofliner. If it's leaking along the sides you may notice water dripping from the A pillars, but most likely it'll follow those down until they connect with the dash (normally it'll run down until it reaches the carpet of the footwells close to the front edge of the door).

I doubt it's your windshield. From what you're discribing, I'd say either the window weatherstrip or the sunroof.

You mention the sunroof has been sealed with silicone, I presume you mean the hardware the exterior metal ring. What about the sunroof's seal? Is that in good shape?

depends on where the leak would be in the windshields seal. They rarely leak from what I hear and the stuff used to install them is pretty tough.

Its most likely your passenger window seal. On hard tops the seal is 1 big piece and on a targa its 3 seperate pieces. You can order new ones from the dealership.
