You can do whatever you want, but it doesnt mean its a good ideal...

How much boost you wanting? whats your current timing degree at?

I was just playing with my timing and it really effected my EGTs I ended up setting my timing to 10 deg cause any higher my EGTs would go over 1600,at crusing speeds my egts are at 1300-1400 any higher timing my EGTs would go over 1400 Im not shooting for maximum power (reliablity) if your going to go against any advice I suggest you get a good EGT guage then make your adjustments

Timing effects EGT greatly as it changes the position of the valves relative to the explosion during power stroke. When you advanced the timing the TCCS was most likely retarding timing under boost to fight detonation causing the power stroke to burn later increasing the combustion temperature at the moment the exhaust valve opens.

Run 10 degrees initial timing as the TSRM says and let the TCCS find the right timing. It constantly adjusts the timing based on feedback from the knock sensors.
