I'm curious to know if anyone selld aftermarket rear axles for the MK3. I've been looking and haven't found anything yet. I will be drag racing my car and maybe getting into drifting later on and I want to make sure my drivetrain is up to it.

The Driveshaft Shop makes them for the MKIV.

I honestly don't think they are needed for the MKIII. MKIII shafts are huge compared to the MKIV ones.
However give them a call, they used to build the custom axles for my drag car, I'm sure they'll fab some up for the right $$.

So the axles on our cars wont ever really be an issue with drag racing or drifting? I will probably max out my car around 600hp at most.

Keep in mind it's 20 year old Tripods and CV joints and that's where any failure is likely to happen, there will be warning signs though.
well i plan on slowly replacing everything. but i just couldnt find aftermarket axles so i was just curious because i always hear of other cars needing to replace their axles for higher horsepower levels in competition
a freinds drift 5 years with stock one with welding differantial , hard kik clutch a never broke one
