Upgrade A304e or swap r154

My car is originally an automatic. I'm completely content with either keeping the auto since its my daily or eventually swapping to a manual if and when the auto craps out.

But I need advice should I upgrade the a340e with the valve body from atfspeed? http://www.atfspeed.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=197_117&products_id=605
or do a complete manual swap with an r154

I figure 1000 to do the upgrade for the auto or 1500-1800 to do the manual swap.

What's your guy's opinion my power goal is under 400hp 400lb

Randomly enough, I'm in Seattle and have a low mile Level Ten built auto out of my brother's car. Maxed out tranny and converter. Will easily hold your goal. Have lines, cooler as well with redline fluid saved in fresh container.

He swapped to a marlin r154 and exedy carbon twin.

For a power goal of 400hp, the R154 is a solid choice. Going much past 500hp, an R154 can't hold up, and there are no good upgrade options for it.
