Hey guys/gals bought a hardpipe from 87mgterelic on SF (goes where the flat plastic ic pipe is right above the turbo and has like a 1 inch pipe welded in it), to be used in conjuction with a turboxs type h bov. Heres the exact instructions he gave me:

"The hard plastic "cork" thing goes into the accordian to block off where the stock bypass valve would let air back into the accordian, but since you're blowing off now you want that blocked. the softer cap pull it off the little brass thing its on and then use the cap to block the hole in the 3000 pipe, put a clamp on it so it won't blow off under pressure. as for the pipe , get your blow off valve and back the 3 screws out around the bottom of it, side it onto the flange and then tighten the 3 screws back down. then pull the plastic hard pipe out of the engine bay and slide the hardpipe in its place, clamp it down and run the vaccume line to the top of the bov and you should be good to go, if anything is un-clear just pm me back, thanks, Jay."

I'm getting the bov in the mail in next few days and was going to do the recommended install. Just wanted to see what you guys think/ or if you have any additional ideas or possible problems with the recommended install.

I'm also unsure if I want to take out stock BPV (167k miles on it) or leave it in and run the bov with it. I dont want to stall or run rich of course but want the best sound + whats healthiest for turbo. Thanks,
Cedric

Cedric, there is a good chance that your stock valve is leaking right now, they do wear out. If you can check it and verify that it is in good working order, then there is no problem leaving it on, but if you are in doubt, remove it and run only the Apex valve. The valve won't make you "run rich" It just will induce a rich condition immediately after the valve opens. Under almost all driving conditions, the valve should be closed, so it should run fine.

Sweet, got it installed yesterday along with catchcan, and took my first update engine pics for cardomain. Took out the old BOV, and Turbo xs runs good enough and car feels better when accelerating. I tried accerating lightly then slamming the gas and letting go (to hear the BOV best) and it would blow off but it when i let of of the gas all the way it would dip a bit below 500 and a few dash lights dimmed. Once the check engine light came on for afm. I Reset the code and I havent got it again yet

yea thats because the turbo xs vents into the atmosphere so u may stall out once and awhile... some people havent had any trouble with their turbo xs as though... i ran a turbo xs rfl for a coupel days and didnt have any trouble

I called up and they told me bov was made for 10-25 psi, im running stock and was told to try cutting the spring, so theres less tension (trial and error , do at your own risk thing) i cut like one and a half loops off and now it blows off nicely. Currently fooling around with washer combiations for perfect idle.

Away at school now (cars at home now w/ dead starter) and im going to start buying parts since im going to be doing a MHG job in May. Anyway when car was running and BOV blew off my car would stall completely out. My question is will my BOV thats vented to atmosphere be able to work with a BPV as well ( to get rid of the stalling)? And if so will it still be as loud? Thanks,
