Culprit: 87 Turbo 5sp hardtop 90K on motor and shell
Bought car and the BHG.... repaired, noticed during repar, that crank pulley had to be 15deg advanced for the cams to line up with TDC. well long story short i figured car ran like that before so why not...... 2 weeks later, i can't stand the pinging above 4k rpm. so i reset it today. pulle top timing cover off, turned crank to 0deg cams to marks reinstalled belt, turned by hand to check for marks. loosened CPS bolt and started car. Brought to Op temp and shut it off. Jumped terminals T and E1 put timing light on #6 plug wire, started car, checked timing and set to 10deg BTDC ( my CPS won't turn any further) car ran good all the way to redline. driving car is another story. feels like it is missing, and studdering under load. in general like the timing is retarded. but it is spot on. any ideas as to why it is acting like this??/ also the turbo spools so much faster with this timing setting.
