I have found a little bit of information regarding this but still have a question.

I am putting in an engine from a 5-spd iinto my automatic. When it was time to hook this up I saw this. I am missing something on my throttle body for the automatic transmission throttle cable. I had an extra bracket on the transmission cable and after a few minutes I figured out how it went but there wasn't anything for the cable end.

My question is, do you recommend replacing the throttle body without removing the linkage or should i just swap the linkage?
It seems cut and dry but i do not want to remove either and run into problems.
Is it better to take the linkage off the throttle body to do the swap or swap the throttle body itself leaving the linkage alone?

Here are the differences:

The metal linkage rod has to come off to change tb. There are 2 different ones as well. I forget if there between auto and manual or if its a 89+ difference. The n/a one is also different.

When going 5 speed you dont need the auto cable.

you are over thinking it. you just need the cable from the gas pedal to attach to the throttle body... as long as it opens it up when you press on the gas you are good :)

I would assume thats the transmission kick down cable.. In which case he does need it.

Hes swapping a engine that came out of a 5 speed car into his automatic car. Swap throttle bodies.
