So when I bought the car it already had the SOGI 'short shift mod' but I dont have a shift knob for it. I'm tired of resting my stock one on there, and then have it just roll around when I put the car in gear.
I can thread the end of the shifter, but my question is: Can you use a threaded shift knob like Blitz's, or is the stick too big (or small)? I know I could easily just buy a knob like Sparco's that uses allen screws to hold the thing in place, but I'm just curious if threading the end would open up a couple more options.

I have the sogi mod, but just cut the threaded section off the original part that you take off for the sogi, and cut an equal length off the the bottom part that becomes the new shifter... welded the threads on, and BAM! I can use any shift knob you would be able to with a stock one.

Give SupraSport a call and get the Short Throw Shifter they sell. I LOVE mine!

I've driven Supras with the "hack job" and have also driven Supras with the C's. Comparing the C's and the version SupraSport sells to the "hack job" is like comparing a finely aged Tequilia (Patron Aneo) to the Montezuma's Revenge tap water from Mexico (or Anaheim). I'd rather drive an automatic than drive with the "hack job".

OK... So I've got Yard of Margarita (Top Shelf) on the brain and can't wait to get to Vegas. WOOHOO!

get one from a scrap yard?

or get one of these:

I love mine ;) very high quality construction, just waiting for my damn knob to get here!!! I ordered one of these:

http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftknobs/type-r-shiftknobs.html

It's a nice 1lb solid steel black matte finish shift knob, it will probably get hot in the summer but they're making a snap on leather cover for it soon so it will be perfect. Plus the height is adjustable inside the knob and it doesn't use any tightening screws.
