I was driving my car for 4 months with a blown 2nd turbo on my twins:cry:
I was gathering all the necessary parts and all the 'I wanna have' performance
parts.:biglaugh:

As some people know I was running my 2jz mk3 BPU'd for about 2 years.
Here's a picture of my engine bay with the stock 2jzgte:

p1430476_1.jpg

There is a build thread of mine on the JZ motors section.
And since I already have:
# Low milage jdm aristo motor (perfect compresion)
# Healthy R154 trans & LSD differential with cooler (euro spec only)
# ACT heavyduty street single disc & JUN flywheel with SS braided clutch line
# Big 80mm exhaust (no cats),80mm Blitz cat back with 120mm endpipe
# Big IC (3" x 12.5' x 25" core) with 3' inlet and outlet
# Big 10 row oil cooler with relocation kit
# ALL the electonic 'goods' (Defi gauges,AVC-R,Blitz TT,AEM Wideband,etc.)
# Almost new (15K miles) tokico shocks and Eibach pro kit springs
# Suspension tune up with strut bars and waiting for sway bars and for D1
middle section brace bar.
# Big front JDM brake kit (14" 6 pot) with new rear rotor and rebuilt caliper
And many other parts that will support BIG power handling and performance
driving.

So,time to go Single :biglaugh::love:
Parts I need :
- Turbo kit (Turbo,manifold,wastegate,DP & midpipe,intake,SS lines & hoses
bolts - studs,T4 gasket,heat insulators,turbo heat shield,new oem gaskets)
- Fuel kit (fuel rail,big injectors,AFP regulator,SS braided fuel lines,fuel pumps
fuel filter, 'Y' block, AN fittings)
- Engine head tune up with some good performance parts (cams, cam gears,
lightweight underdrive pulleys, valve springs and retainers, new oem gaskets)
- EMS (performance standalone ecu)

Turbo kit choise:
I had in mind something big but also very responsive and fast spooling, with full boost at about 4000-4200 rpms :sarcasm:
This would have been my choise of turbo kits: PHR Stage 3 - GT72 DBB turbo
p1430476_2.jpg

But,unfortunately this kit is oriented for mk4 by Powerhouse racing:cry:
So,parts like down pipe,mid pipe,intercooler pipe,intake pipe,screamer pipe
wouldn't bolt on a mk3 MA70 chassis.Parts of about $2000 USD should have
been modified to fit. So a turbo kit like PHR Stage 3 costs about $7000 USD
to reach my country.
Then I started purchasing individual parts...manifold,turbo,wastegate,etc.,

Turbo: ITS 72mm,T4 divided,DBB - water cooled with 0.70 A/R on hot side
------------------------------------------------------------------------
p1430476_3.jpg

p1430476_4.jpg

Exh.manifold: HKS GT T4 divided ceramic coated (used part from a member)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
p1430476_5.jpg

Wastegate: HKS GTII 60mm wastegate
--------------------------------------
p1430476_6.jpg

p1430476_7.jpg

Intake kit: Greddy Air Inx kit
----------------------------
p1430476_8.jpg

p1430476_9.jpg

More picts coming...

Downpipe - Mid pipe: 4" DP and 4" midpipe (ebay) Very good quality!
------------------------------------------------------------------
p1430477_1.jpg

p1430477_2.jpg

p1430477_3.jpg

Other single turbo parts:
------------------------

Boost logic oil feed / return lines
p1430477_4.jpg

Boost logic 3' to 4' adaptor
p1430477_5.jpg

Boost logic T4 turbo blanket
p1430477_6.jpg

PHR heat coated screamer pipe,HKS WG V-band clamps,HKS Exh.manifold studs & bolts,
and exhaust V-band clamps 4"
p1430477_7.jpg

DEI turbo insulation kit / heat shield
p1430477_8.jpg

Turbo 3" V-Band clamp,4" silicon coupler & clamps,SS braided wastegate lines
p1430477_9.jpg

p1430477_10.jpg

p1430477_11.jpg

And some other miscelenious stuff like vacuum hoses, coolant hoses,
hose's heat covers, clamps,PCV hoses for Greddy oil catch can,
custom pipe from turbo to IC with 2.5' silicon couplers and Heavy duty
T-bolt clamps...

So with all the... my choise Turbo 'kit' parts in hand ,the installation took
place. Taking out the stock twins is a PITA :icon_evil
After 7-8 hours they were out! :naughty:
p1430477_12.jpg

And now time for the single setup!:biglaugh::sarcasm:

I've installed all the single turbo parts in about two days...
I didn't have any big issues...though I had to hit in 5mm a small spot
on the HKS exh. manifold to give a safe clearance from the chassis.
Also I had to take off the exhaust head studs to fit in the HKS manifold...
For my surprise, the ebay 4" Down pipe bolt on almost perfectly :sarcasm:
Though the 4" mid pipe needs to be re-routed at a welder :naughty:
The Greddy intake pipe fits perfect also_Oil lines looking good, and
the wastegate seats nice. I have to mod a little bit the PHR screamer pipe so
it won't shoot flames on my crossmember :sarcasm:

And last the finished 'product'...Completely installed and ready to boost',
not much though (only 7-8 psi) cause I am on stock fuel system
The only thing left is the Greddy oil catch can to the PCV system to
get the proper hoses and installed them in.
I am waiting for the performance fuel in a week or two.
Soon man..soon! :biglaugh:

Enjoy :sarcasm:

Somewhere I have a small video, when I first cranked the Single setup
without the midpipe being installed! What a noise....sick thing indeed :biglaugh: I'll try to find the video end post it up :sarcasm:
I hope it's good quality.

Thanks! I hope I finish the hall project soon.
I can't boost much now....But I will post some videos !
I'll try to find the small video with the first ignition and no exhaust system,
only the 4" downpipe :biglaugh:

Looks awesome!

What kind of numbers are you expecting?

Thanks. Well I want to reach the 700whp goal on good pump gas.
I don't want less than 650 whp :nono: But 650 whp will do for me also.
And I don't want to take the car to the dragster :biglaugh:
I just wanna have fun with it on the streets...that's all.
Some high end top speeds on the Autobahn will be nice..xaxa
terrorizing the M3s and the 997 turbo porsches...:biglaugh:
Here in Europe we have 100 RON octane like Shell V-power plus
and BP ultimate so we can boost a little more than you guys in U.S.
I think the best you have is 95 RON octane on pump gas haven't you?

very nice choice on turbo, only downside is youll wish you had gotten a bigger A/R backside if you want to go up near 8K rpms. the .7 a/r ITS backside doesn't like to breathe too much up really high

I know....0.70 A/R will start choking over 7800 rpms :naughty:
But I got a nice deal on the ITS 72mm dbb turbo :sarcasm:
But I really want the fastest spool that I can get!
It is just a thought of mine on building boost early...
The idea was: Quite big turbo like the ITS 72mm..but with DBB,devided turbo
and devided manifold combo, small A/R (0.70 is the smallest for ITS 72mm),
4" DP / midpipe and 264 cams should give me full boost at about 4000-4200
rpms. Will see what will happen when the action begins! :biglaugh:
I wanted to have a hot side of 0.82 or bigger as a back up but I am short
on cash right now. I've spent about $23.000 (16.000 euros) for going single...
along with the fuel kit, engine tune up parts, and EMS.

youll see boost quicker than that

i was using a non divided, non-bb ITS 72mm with the .70 A/R back housing on a 1JZ and i was seeing 18psi around 4500-4600
