i think i may of figured out why my supra has been idleing like crap. well i have been trying to figure this problem out for a while adn today i was messing with the stock bypass valve and i took it off and the car idled good adn didnt miss or anything. so i plugged it back up and the car idled like crap and cut off. so i took it off again and it idled fine, so i was like ok let me see if the bov is really the problem. so i covered up the hole on the 3000 pipe where the bov connects and the car idled like crap and cut off again. so ive come to the conclusion that my bypass valve is stuck closed and is making my car idle like crap and making shut it off.

bov is supposed to be closed during idle ;) so if it's idling bad with that hole closed (same a bov closed) - look for a problem in intercooler piping.
mine was stuck open and idle was also crap ;)

Check your afm, mine also ran crappy and I checked the codes and 31 came up. I unplugged the afm and It ran better!?!? I know its random but it might help.

It shouldn't matter, as the throttle plate is closed at idle.

Unless there is something wrong with your air intake... so it's not feeding air properly into your ISC (Idle Speed Controller). Then when you introduce essentially a large leak in the system, the ISC pulls from that instead. Try hooking the stock by pass valve back up, then disconnect the rubber hose leading to the ISC, see if that has the same effect as the BPV did.

ok thanks a lot grimjack adn everyone else. well i was messing around again today and i hooked the bov back up and unplugged the afm and the car idled fine adn then plugged it back up and the car idled like crap. so i think my problem is my afm like 87m-gte said. but the thing is i have 3 spare afms adn all 3 act the same. but i was looking at the afms and there is like grim or oil on them. so i wiped them off adn put it back on and started it up and still idled like crap so i took it out again and theres crap on it again. could this be coming from my turbo crapping out.

Not likely, turbo oil leaks usually go the other way, through the IC pipes.

However, the PCV system vents into the intake, and in extreme cases can cause things like enough oil in the intercooler to plug the airflow.

Pull off the PCV line where it connects to the accordion hose. Check to see how much gunk is coming out of there. If it's a lot, it's probably a good idea to pull your intercooler and check to see if it's full of oil. Measure how much is in there, then wash it out with fuel and let it dry.

and as for the intercooler couldnt i just use paint thinner instead of gas since gas is so expensive. adn what would i have to do, soak the intercooler in a bucket full of it?

Paint thinner would probably work but gas would probably be better. Just pour some in there and shake it around, turn upside down and pour it out. Then repeat until the gas comes out clean.

Either one will work... but have you checked the price of paint thinner recently? It's still more expensive than fuel here!

alright well i just unplugged my isc hose and the car shut off as soon as i disconnected it. And then i unplugged the pvc pipe going to the turbo inlet and started teh car and waited to see oil coming out from the hose and didnt see any. So the thing i cant understand is howcome all of my afms seem to have oil on them after i put them in, and i think the oil is making my afms defective somehow. so what could be causing this

Do you have an after market air filter? or an oily one? has the air filter box(if you still have that) been leaked on by any oil?

ok guys i got the car to idle fine now, all i did was take out the efi fuse and let the cpu reset. and then put it back in and now it idles fine. So i hooked up a air fuel gauge i got from my friend. Its nothing special, just one of those ones from advanced auto, that hooks up to the o2 sensor. adn it says that i am running extremely lean. i will poste up videos in a few
