Contrary to popular belief Hi Octane fuel DOESN'T give you more power.....

It's actually a slower burning fuel that's more resistant to knock so it will let you run more timing/boost and it's that which makes the power, running Hi Octane in a motor that isn't tuned for it will usually show a drop in power.

The most power is usually found with a fuel that's just above the knock threshold for a given combination.

The Lead in Avgas kills the 02 sensors fairly quickly.

I learned that in engine class in junior high school. It seemed odd to me at the time that a "higher rated" fuel would have a slower burn... then we got into the mechanics of the engine, then it all made sense.

Fun class, we spent the entire year tearing apart and rebuilding the lawnmower engines for the school's landscaping dept. lol
