Now - as some of you may know - Crysis isn't far from release, people are banking on it being around the time of Half Life 2 - Episode Two. And download the video there. It's 77mb yes, but it looks fucking spectacular!

I'm really only putting this thread up there because a) It looks cool, and others HAVE to know about it b) i need people to play multiplayer against when it comes out :biglaugh:

wow people are trying to argue a FPS on console is better than FPS on pc. I dont think so, you might wanna grab a computer and few fps for pc and you'll find out Halo really isnt that great.

Except for the fact that my PC is too much of a POS to play any FPSs made within the last 3-5 years. I'd probably still be a PC gamer if my Supra and school weren't such financial leeches. I hate having expensive hobbies...

If you can aim crosshairs with a control-stick better than a novice can with a mouse, I am astounded, and you play video-games way too much. That coming from me, is really saying something.
If you could hook 3 consoles up to somehow interface with a PC, playing the same game, and the PC had a mouse for aiming and console users had to use a control stick, and the 4 players all had the same skill level, that PC player would own the 3 others fairly easily.

PC games will always look better than console games...because you can always upgrade the inside with out voiding the warranty, not like consoles, and plus consoles are limited and computers arent so limited. so you really cant compare the looks or anything between a console or a PC.

Hardware of PC's and Consoles isnt what this thread is about - simply the games. Seeing as Halo was ported to the PC, that part is relevant (although Halo is still outdated and boring). Try and keep it on topic

Sorry for the OT, but...

Halo was actually designed for the PC, then the company making it was purchased and corrupted by MS to make their Xbox campaign work, and they ported it to the Xbox at that time.

Then they delayed the PC release for another 2 years to keep the 'edge' with the Xbox. One of the more stupid moves I've ever seen, IMO.

Back on topic, Crysis is going to rock, I've seen the video, and it's essentially mankind vs nasty aliens with the Far Cry engine, which is going to be amazing.

Not the Far Cry Engine - that was the original CryEngine, this is CryEngine 2 - the sequel!

Seriously - the tech demo's make everything else look old.

Man, after watching those videos...I'm going to have to find a way to get my compy upgraded. This game looks totally incredible. Any reccomendations on vid cards? Is AGP too weak at this point to be worth it? Any good CPU/Mobo/GFX combinations anyone's got that they absolutely love? Thanks guys.

robeats dont buy AGP for the money you spend in AGP you can have at least 2x as much performance through PCI-X. As far as combinations go it really depends on your budget

I believe the original Halo was in production for the Mac.


Crysis looks cool. Im not looking anymore cause I doubt this system im on now will run it
